At this time, I prefer Ron Paul. We need less government and more freedom. The only real concern I have about him is he seems to attract some very radical, in-your-face type of supporters. Politics is suppose to be the arena of ideas not personal threats. Those who study and understand history, know the arena of ideas is our Republic in action. So many seem to want to squelch free thought.

At this point in the Game NONE OF them..and it is sad.. I do not think any of them are ready to lead the country. I was hoping that Ms. Rise would run. She is respected around the world and is very smart, she has more leadership than any of them that is running. I think that the only thing that is holding her back is that she is not married.
None of the above

You need to look at who can win. Think nationwide, not just the south. Clinton will crush Huck and Paul. Look for Rudy and McCain to team up.

Don't you just wish the Clintons' would disappear? Move to France or something.

Anyway, I beg to differ about the above choice. It would be wise to remember that John McCain, along with Dianne Feinstein, iniated the anti-free speech bill. He can't be trusted.

Rudy changes his mind on issues too frequently. First he's anti-gun, now he's pro-gun, etc.

I really don't think that either candidate is Presidental material.

Oh, that's OK Tuvok.:o) I thought maybe I had missed a candidate or something. So easy to do with so many running. Thanks for explaining.

Condoleezza Rice would probably be a good President. She'd scare the Liberals, though, with her intellegance, good diplomacy and confident manner. They don't seem to like strong women.

Sorry to hear you are up so late at night. Hope it's for good reasons.

Ron Paul: America's taxpayers deserve less government, end of IRS

Note to readers: In December, the editorial page contacted the campaigns of all the major presidential candidates and offered them space to make their cases. Their columns have been run in the order they are received. The Florida presidential primary is Tuesday. Early voting continues. See election coverage on our Web site, www.jacksonville.com .

As prices rise while the purchasing power of the dollar falls, hardworking Americans are finding it more difficult to make ends meet, to save for the future and to obtain health care.
