I applaud any parent who disciplines their children. There are way too many nasty kids treating parents disrespectful so good for you Mr. Paul.

There is a fine line between discipline and abuse and evidently he crossed that line or the fire board wouldn't have suspended him. I don't know the whole story but I know we can depend on The Alma times to give us a true unbiased report of the facts.

If they report something that is not correct then you need to call then and have proof to refute what they printed and they will print a retraction.

Beating someone with a stick isn't always bad.

I can't believe that people are so crazy and stupid. I agree that children needs a wiping but not hit with fistor hit with a drum stick. That is child abuse. Child abuse...... I can't believe that people agree with that. All I can say is if it is true that paul taylor beat his son in the face and with drum sticks then he needs to lose his job, lose his kids and his wife should leave him. There is no excuse for child abuse. If you don't want your kids give them away. People who can't have kids would love to take them. Just saying.........

The person who writes for the Alma Times is a common ordinary person just like I am. I know the Times slants the news. I know people who use to advertise in that paper and no longer do because of that fact. I know that they have personally gone in the Times office and complained.

This is what's wrong with kids today. You don't know the truth about what happened. First off his son was not beat with a drum stick in the face maybe man slapped. So, is it ok to let a child cuss you, be disrespectful and do drugs. You do NOT know if the father had tried talking to him, grounded him and or even taken things a way from him. Sometimes kids just need an old faction spanking.

A spanking and a beating are two different things. If the police and Dfacs are imvolved and there is an ongoing investigation and the city and county fire board felt that his actions deserved a suspension from his job something is not right. Until you have been the victim of childhood abuse then you have no way of relating or understanding. I agree we don't lnow all the facts but if he is guilty then our justice system will make sure he is punished.

yes a spanking and a beating are two different things. I can yell out I was beaten when I was really not because I was mad also. kids do do this just to get back at their parents for getting caught for something they should not be doing in the first place...
just saying

I cant believe anything i read but i do know theres a a line between beating and getting there butts but for anyone on the police dept should be treated like all the other citizens and let dfacs figure it out but this is alma for ya! they do what they want i cld go on but there is no use cause nothing is going to change oh just a ? hows all these inmates getting drugs in jail? fake ass jailers!!

People I don't believe a child would call 911 over a simple spanking. I agree we don't know all the facts ,so we shouldn't pass judgement. I say give him his day in court and let a jury decide.,

I think first off many of you need to realize the "child" is over 16. When he disrespected his father, did drugs in his house and stood up to him, he put his self in a mans shoes!! Just saying sometimes a spanking is not enough. I congratulate him on trying to take control of his son and knock some since in him.

If the child has a drug problem all the spankings in the world is not going to help. He needs help but not a beating.

I say ask Farrall Landon, he can straighten out anything. He is the Bomb, and cooks good bbQ with dem root beers. Dat man is an expert on everything even tho he hates Alma, he knows a lot of things and how to take care of them.
