Rodgers and Jacobson are committed to Suwannee. Canaday has worked with garrison in the past. For a young guy canday is well known in north east Florida. He spent some time in baker, but I remember him doing an amazing job at bishop Snyder in Jacksonville . I could see canday heading to Alma if garrison gets the job.

I hope we find the right person for the job soon. It would be great if Coach Owens could do it, but I have learned that he has no interest in the job. Maybe more Florida coaches will work out good. I just hope it is someone that makes a positive impression on our kids. They deserve that.

Dude, if you really think that post was made by the "real" coach Bobby Johns you are sadly mistaken. Think about it, do you really think he would even visit a website like this let alone make a comment like that one? I don't think so. And about the uniforms, they had nothing to do with anything that happened this season. In fact, they may have got the boys even MORE excited when they got them. I personally loved them. I think they were awesome! And from what I hear, the players did too.

Dude,I know,You know, and everyone else knows that JOHNS did not post that comment, because every word was spelled correct and there was NO SWEARING OR CUSSING !!About the uniforms "the player makes a uniform look good not the uniform makes a player good" and we had a team of good players!

Ole Raider, I think our players look good in the uni's because of that system in the weightroom them coaches had going on. I don't know about you but I remember smaller players 2 and 3 years ago.

<quoted text> Tommy Davis is NOT a teacher. There is something to be said for having a certified teacher that has demonstrated the discipline of obtaining a degree to pursue a desired career. Community coaches may have some talent but lack the degree, which holds them to a higher level of care since they have something to loose, a certificate of teaching.
you might want to ask tommy himself and see if he's a teacher because I think he did get his teacher certification ?????

We're going to bring I guy in because he just has talent, what about training, what about being prepared. Coaching isn't like riding a bike, you might remember but you better be up to date with what's going on in the football world and styles of offense and defense changes. You have to stay up with your skills to be effective I think but it's just my opinion.

BS. He sought out the job and the 11 yrs he is so concerned about is the same 11 he came here with. Did not matter then, why now. I go to this meeting tonight and he wants to try to work up a tear. Spare me. We are giving the job to Pooh. A man with no HC experience just like we had with Brown. Remember when we hired BJ. We wanted an experienced Coach. We got one and we won. Now we go back to someone with no experience. Put out the job search and lets get someone in here that wants to win. Somebody to stay and make Alma home. Maybe even a guy looking for a final place to reire and needs about 5-6 years to go.

Who has made the decision to give the job to coach Pooh?

I thought the BOE did the hiring, not the booster club.

I will be honest, I am a college football coach at small mid major division one school and Coach Pooh is a friend of mine and I wish he wouldn't even apply for the job. I have told him this job would ruin him, these postings are being talked on Facebook and other sites. I hate that my friend is going have to deal with you freaking people. I wish him luck and hope he makes a smart decision. I know him this is a challenge and he is a fighter and he is to stubborn to listen, please treat him right if he gets the job and give him a chance. He's always been a hard worker and dedicated to his kids, I wish you luck BD.

I don't have a problem with coach pooh getting the job if he is the best man for the job. I think we should post the job, interview applicants and then make a decision. You never know who will apply. Coach Pooh might end up being the right man for the job. I do not know much about pooh or his coaching experince, but I have heard nothing but good things about him.

Why don't you just stay out if the way of the good people that really care about these kids and not just yours. It's just a shame you have any input on who is hired.

Just a couple of fact checks here (I assume you are referring to John's record in the first part of the interview). J DeLoach won 15 games in 78' and 79'. T Rigdon won 15 games in '86 and 87'. Coach Johns won 13 games in 2011 and 2012.
Bacon made the playoffs in back to back years under DeLoach and also under two different coaches in 87' and 88'(Rigdon and Coach Still).
Just be careful when you use the words FIRST TIME EVER. John's did a super job, but lets not discredit others who did as well.
Thank you for your comment. Both Coach Deloach and Mr. Rigdon were great coaches, teachers and above all good men!!

Absolutely agree. I did not know coach deloach but everyone speaks hIgh of him. Coach rigs on is a class act too. Coach johns I believe could have taken us to new heights if he had stated but his time here was very well spent. It is now time to keep pushing forward and I hope it is quickly or we will lose all momentum.

Bacon county sucks at football, the kids have no heart, effort, or interest for winning because if they did they would work harder. Coffee county is a real team with real talent and team chemistry.
