After watching several of the lady raiders basketball games one thing in very apparent. There is no discipline on this team and very little coaching. I have never seen such bad attitudes from players and such disregard for athority for coaches and refs. It has gotten to the point that it is an embarrassment to the community. How can the Board of Education let this continue?

Perhaps the basketball team can take some notes from our softball team on how to conduct yourself like real ladies!

I do agree our ladies aren't the most disciplined but they are also some of our most trouble young ladies, and to mention most of them are black. And yeah if some of our trouble black girls played softball Tyre couldn't handle them for five minutes and his staff couldn't either for example they all have helped with Basketball since they been here and got out of it cause they didn't know how to handle the black youth. They took the joking for fight were to scared to correct them, and one coach called the police on his own kids cause he was to scared to discpline them.
It just so happens that all of our softball team is white except for one mixed young lady and one black girl in middle school school. They happen to come from good homes. I think that we have to take into account these things because our young ladies on the basketball team come from some not so good situations and happen to come from mainly one parent homes. If you think that is easy to do then I challenge you to come and voluntary and find out for yourself how tough that can be before you start passing judgement. Then maybe our girls on the team should do like the boys and play in the freaking summer I know for a fact that their coach showed up everyday in the summer and nearly no girls came and he called and tried to get them but they aren't dedicated so I think a coach can only do so much, some of the responsibility has to fall on the parents and the kids. You get what you put into it, and they put nothing into it, and now you want them to do what??? And it's the coaches fault that we as parent didn't make our girls go and workout this summer And softball doesn't have this problem because our counter parts Willard sure their girls are their and participating and playing.

Simple solution. If they don't conform they're off the team. That's whats wrong with our schools now. Not enough adults with backbone!

This is a very confusing post. You start off, it appears, condoning their behavior and then it appears you place the blame on others. The facts are simple. The team is made of undisciplined girls who,for the most part, have absolutely no boundaries at home. That tends to show itself outside when they begin having interaction with normal people. The truth of the matter is that they cannot be changed. Their antisocial behavior is ingrained in them. They will be the next generations welfare and unwed mothers, bringing another bumper crop of hoodlums and lot lizards that will become the step in the cycle. It is sad but it is true.

My question is, will the high school or BOE stand up and say enough is enough?

If you're a real parent then say your name on this post. It's sad that you're talking and putting down young high school students!

While we're on the subject of being disrespectful, take a look at yourselves. You're on an anonymous Internet site bashing teenage girls. I am a senior on the basketball team, and if anybody has a problem with the way we conduct ourselves please come speak with me. Because I do a lot more problem solving and taking care of our girls than the "coach." The teams attitude problem has been an issue for years. We're young and have issues just like everybody else. I know A LOT more about your "perfect" softball team than you because I'm actually in high school and they have plenty of problems too. I'm also black, live with two parents, live VERY VERY well, and have yet to give birth to a lot lizard. All of you are cowards and pathetic to be adults and say the things you have said on here. You should really be ashamed. We're in HIGH SCHOOL. It's sad that your life is that meaningless that my team is the center of your life. Grow up.

Raider Pride if you are so good on what to do with these young ladies why don't you just come on down to the next practice and lets see just what you can do since you know so much. and for the other one that wants to call these young ladies names all these girls are not alike. My daughter plays on this team and she doesn't have a bad attitude. She knows better than to act like that. And she is NOT and will NOT be a lot lizard. She has been raised right and she has a GREAT family she comes from. We can't help that some of these kids come from homes that live from pay check to pay check and don't have all the money that some of the other parents have that there kids play sports. My kid goes out and gives all she has and she will go to practice for 2 to 3 hrs and then come home and practice at home because she LOVES the game.

Dude , how do you know how these people live? what does their income have to do with how they act on the court? You're ridiculous just like everyone else on this post. HEFLIN!! If you all don't like how these ladies conduct themselves then why are y'all even wasting your $6 to even watch the bafoolery? Y'all need a hobby, and fast. I rather be a lot lizard and an unwed mother rather than a pill snorting, ignorant, FOOL who get on anonymous websites and talk about subjects that don't even have anything to do with my life.

Lady raider's Fan You need to not call out my name cause I was not the one that posted that. Get your facts strait and leave my name out your mouth. I don't know if that person was talking about my child or not but she does have other people that think of her as their daughter and she does give all while on the court and off the court. But I will go and pay $6 to watch my daughter and the rest of the Lady Raiders play ball. So I am just saying make sure you know who you calling out before you call them out.
Thanks

well I'm not gonna step to your level there Lady Raiders Fan. I'm better than that to set here on stupid site and talk about a bunch of teenagers that are still in school. I never said that the other girls didn't give their all. If you knew how to read you would see that the other person was defending the girls and then you want to try and bash my name on here when in fact you don't know what you are talking about. But don't worry I know who you are and you have and had a bad attitude on the court also. So you have no room to talk about these kids and bash them on here. If you and the rest of these on here have such a problem with these girls then maybe yall should just save that $6 and stay at home and buy some gas to take it to the next board meeting. These girls don't need all this BS outside of school either. So all yall grow up and leave these girls along. And Lady Raiders Fan I'm glad you know how to spell my name and like saying it so much you want to say it all the time. You don't know what your talking about you didn't make any more point on the court when you was there last year either.

Fellow Citizens,
It is truly a sad state of affairs for the girls basketball program. I have been involved with basketball for the past 32 years either as a player or official and I can say unequivocally that the current group of ladies representing alma and bacon county are have the absolute worst overall attitude I have ever witnessed.
The athletic programs exist to provide an extra-curricular activity for the kids. Extra. As in not required. Not mission critical. Subject to cancellation.
The Coaching staff, AD, administration, superintendent and all board members should be asking for the forgiveness of the taxpayers of bacon county. The season should be immediately cancelled. All remaining games forfeited. The behavior of this team does not reflect the good people of bacon county and alma.
Coach Johnson would have a fit if he saw how things were going now.
All is not lost. Good, competitive, loyal and well behaved kids are out there. Get them in our programs! It is possible to win with good kids and if you don't?? Who cares!!!??? Use the athletic program to reach the reachable kids. Fous on those which can be saved.
My humble opinion only.
As always, Go Raiders.

I agree with most of what you have stated. I have always felt that the problem is with the coaching staff and the administration. They are the adults and should not be afraid of the students/players or their parents. We should go to the Board of Education meetings and put a stop to this problem. And, we should not blame the players or make racist comments about them!

Can you play? And don't worry about what I did last year because every time we hit that court we hit it hard. The argument ain't about talent. At least we had fun last year no matter what the ending score was soo bringing that up don't make you any more right. HA!
