This guy actually had a court date in Radford for February for a minor speeding ticket he received in late October. Really strange...wonder what his background is?

It is a very sad situation. As a parent of a Tech student we were also terrified. I pray for the families of both. No one will ever know why he did this.

This guy was a nutter and he had the decency to whack himself thus saving the public the expense of a multimillion dollar trial complete with endless appeals and hand holding candlelight vigils about why the death penalty is so evil (it keeps fruitcakes from racking up more victims and denies bar associations another multiyear cash cow).

So do your part---if you see someone shooting at a cop make sure you send him to that great big public defender office in the sky.

I would bet on it.

But it's a two way street as well. Most of the rookie cops out on the street now grew up playing these violent video games as well. Plus they picked all the bad habits taught to them by the COPS television show.

What would that have to do with the crime? I play GTA and you don't see me going around ambushing cops. Violent video games don't make people more violent, urban myth. That's the reason that courts keep striking down laws about selling video games to kids, the proof that they negatively effect them isn't there.

Citizen, I'll do my part on that, 13 rounds of 45ACP does the trick!

Does anyone edit anymore? Please refrain from coloring the news by posing hypothetical questions...we don't know why should be enough...respnsible journalism? The public wants it.

PLEASE edit your stories! The article is about the identity of the gunman, then further down there are paragraphs saying the identity isn't yet known. My kindergarten students could write a better story.12/10..2PM

Only in Cville would there be no mention that the killer once attended UVA-Wise.
