Virginia-based nTelos Wireless announced today that football fans everywhere can now register for the 2012 Pass For Cash contests, which will take place at halftime during home football games at Virginia Tech, as well as James Madison University and the University of Richmond.
In 2011, more than 9,000 fans registered at Pass For Cash interactive displays at home football games or on-line at http://www.ntelos.com/pass4cash for a chance to participate in the annual contests. Six winning contestants took home a total of $16,500 along with trips for two to Chicago, Miami, Minneapolis, and Phoenix.
Fans interested in registering for this year’s contest can simply log onto http://www.ntelos.com/pass4cash , or look for the nTelos Wireless Pass For Cash interactive display at an upcoming JMU, VA Tech, or UR football game.
“nTelos provides nationwide wireless service for JMU, Va Tech, and UR athletic programs, and as a Virginia-based company, Pass For Cash is an exciting way for us to take our partnership with college athletics to the next level and give something exciting back to their fans,” said Conrad Hunter, chief operating officer of nTelos Wireless.“Our partnering universities are very supportive, and we look forward to using Pass For Cash, and our university sponsorships, as a way of communicating the outstanding value that nTelos Wireless brings to the communities we serve.”
Two winners from each participating university will be selected in random drawings to participate in the Pass For Cash contests that will take place during halftime of each university’s last home game. Selected contestants will be asked to throw regulation size footballs at a target placed 10 yards away. The first ball - thrown at a “nationwide coverage” map - determines the destination. The football landing near the closest city determines where the contestant will go via two round-trip tickets. A second football – thrown at a bull’s-eye target - determines the cash amount of spending money won for the trip of up to $5,000.
Since its inception, nTelos Wireless has given away more than $30,000 to Pass For Cash participants, including trips to Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, Minneapolis, and Phoenix.
