Okay, this is mad!! Lyons Falls sewer no longer goes into the River. But the DEC did tell the village that fishing in the River will decline now. The Bait fish eat of the bottom (poop):).
So as far as that goes it's true. Many fisherman have said they aren't catching the numbers and sizes they where before. As far as the farm goes I don't feel the county should have paid that fine, without some sort of deal or big benefit to the county. But I believe that there was some deal about hunting on the Farms property or something. That lower lagoon that broke, wasn't even supposed to be used any how. The DEC would inspect that and make them put a PANCAKE (plug) in the pipe that feeds eat. As soon as the state left they would take it out. So you see the state was to blame has much or more then the farm. As far as the amount as damage done to the river I think it was blown a little out of proportion. Just my thoughts.

i think that the farm pays them minimum wage and sometimes better if all the lazy ppl who do nothing all day would go apply up to marks theyd be getting what there "illeagals" are getting and if they are illegal its not the farms fault that they hired them when they have fake passports and greencards that they order from nyc. really its the ppl nyc you need to blame for making illegality easier

Mark's Farm a SMALL business? It is the biggest farm in Lewis County, and probably Jefferson County. They can afford to pay their fines.

Well I've lived in Lowville for 50 years and know quite a few people that have worked at Marks Farm and they have all said that it was the fault of Marks Farms, and what difference does it make if he is a Viet-Nam vet?? Sorry see no reason to include that........Or perhaps it is just time to leave it alone.
