In this case Mr. Buckley is wrong. If you collect taxes for fire protection, you have to pay it out every year. Its clear that each department needs to go to Champion Town Board and ask for the money they are entitled to. Mr. Buckley May be the supervisor but he and the board are not above the law.

It's obvious that the relationship between the supervisor and the department members and leadership, is adversarial at best. Thus the reason for the attorney being there to protect the departments interest. Mr. Buckley and the town board have an attorney on staff, why shouldn't the department. He questions how and why they have money for an attorney, because the board forces them to when they do not follow NY State Law.

If there is no trust the attorney is necessary. I don't blame the department one bit. Mr Buckley has been a one man wrecking ball, hell bent on disbanding the department for years now. I wish our department would wise up and utilize our attorney more.

Good Luck Brothers, I hope you guys get what your entitled to.
