The guy they hired is a great guy. Thats about it. Ill bet hes never turned a wrench in his life and more than half the villages expenses are repairs. If they would have hired someone who is a little mechanically inclined, maybe they would have saved a little money but no lets hire someone who doesent know anything about anything. Apparently its not who you know, its who you blow.

Thats nothing. Did you see that kid they put in as assistant chief for the FD? Then only reason the FD elected him was because no one ran against him, I just hope the village didn't approve him tonight. Honestly, what can that dumb kid do? Put $2000 of lights on that little truck and pretend to be important on a scene? Bout it

Yeah.... this place is going to tell in a hand basket. Individually the village board members are alright people, get them in that room and they start throwing around power they dont even have.

Well they can't be that bad, I see they finally got the people on the drill team to finaly do some real training. Can't play it you don't do what the state mandates them to do.

All departments have to have training including those with drill teams, don't pat the village on the back aall the members need training and maybe the dept. training officer has gen the message and providedthe training.

There's more to take into consideration than if you can turn a wrench. You need to be smart enough to obtain water and sewer licenses among other skills. I can guarantee that most of the people who get on here and bash the village are people who don't even vote let alone run for office themselves. They get paid very little and have to put up with people like you who think they know it all. You really need to find a hobby so that judging others isn't such a priority in your life. If you don't like the decisions the village board makes, run for a position, if you don't like the fire departments decisions join the department and help make changes. Or....just let the ones who are volunteering do their jobs! Oh...and enough already about the drill team. Nobody really cares.i

I dont like to discriminate against anyone but the village should definately have considered more abilities then just passing the water and sewer test. You need to be able to do the physical part of the job. Those kids they hired to do trash and recyclables are full blown idiots. God help the senior citizens at Happy Acres if they are out walking because they drive that road like its a race track. I know some of the applicant's and i truly believe that this was not one of the most qualified. I will be very surprised if he last until winter.
