I laughed... That's funny, and I'm sure my wife would laugh at it as well. You see, it's called a JOKE. Tasteless? Maybe. So what? It's not serious, and it won't do anything to perpetuate domestic violence.

I agree with Nota Sheep, it's just a joke, not making fun of domestic violence, Readers Digest is an up standing magazine.

Free Speech political correctness cops. Agree with Nota Sheep - it is tasteless - not as tasteless as Letterman's joke about Sarah Palin's daughter - but tasteless just the same.

It wouldn't be funny if your family member had died of domestic violence. I understand that it isn't going to make anyone go out & kill their wife with a golf club. However, it does send a message that domestic violence & homicide are things to laugh at. Neither is particularly funny to me.

The mistake of the joke was that Readers Digest did not imply that the husband was white. Then the political correct crowd could have really went off. No one is condoning domestic abuse/violence/homicide with this joke. I guess it is only politically correct to make a white male the butt of any joke now. It will not be too long before any group will find something offensive about any joke told. Damn, the libs need to quit finding things to be offended by.

Not all humor appeals to every person. PC is the biggest infringement on the 1st Amendment ever. What if I do not like the way you talk or say? Do I get to form a group and shut you up? Think about it that way.

No college professor would ever let a student use Reader's Digest as a reference source so why would anybody get upset over whatever they print, its all a joke. Domestic violence is not ok or a joke, ever. But some people didn't get the jokes in school and will probably run around crying "foul" all their lives and continue to be a pain in the ass to the rest of us.

A man goes to the hosipital. The doctor says,
"sir, I am sorry but your wife was in an accident. I have good news and bad news. The bad news is that she is severly injured for life. Your going to have to feed her, bathe her, brush her teeth, dress her, take her everywhere, tuck her in at night, read to her, and always maker her feel special. The guy says," oh no doctor, that's horrible. What's the good news. "The good news is I am joking."She's dead"!!!

Anyways, these advocates are from Black River Falls. It's merely a gas up exit in the middle of nowhere on I-94. Books have actually been written about the locals seeing ghosts and that the place is haunted. These people have no credibility whatsoever.

Here's a funnier version:

A meth-crazed welfare bum with a long history of felonious assault breaks into a house and threatens the homeowner with a knife, demanding money and valuables. The homeowner has left his legally-obtained handgun, for which he has a concealed-carry permit, in his desk back in his office. However, he happens to have in his hand a brand-new beryllium copper golf club, with which he exterminates the felon.

When the police arrive, he explains that he killed this vermin with 5 or 6 blows from the club.
"Give me a break, put down for five," he adds.

On the plus side only like three people in WI can even read, so it's not like too many people could have been offended.

How do you turn the dish washer into a snow blower? Give her a shovel.

Why is a man smarter during sex? He's plugged into a woman.

Come on people. Laugh a little and don't take everything so freakin' seriously!

I wonder if no one involved with adding the 'joke' (which wasn't funny) to Reader's Digest has any experience with domestic violence. And if someone does, if they would stand up and complain about including it in the magazine. When a person dies a whole world is lost. If you can understand that, please keep it in mind for the future.

Daily Horoscope for December 27

Sagittarius

After all the excitement of the past few days you're longing for the chance to put your feet up and take life easy for a while. Ideally, you should bury your nose in a good book and be left alone until you resurface for a food transfusion. But you'll also enjoy chatting to someone you know very well and for whom you don't have to make a big effort, such as a close relative.
