Is Bank of America Leaving Charlotte?

My personal feeling is that BOA isn’t going anywhere! Does it really matter where the CEO lives? In this day and time, with all of our technological advances and the increasing ability to do our jobs from the office, our homes or the beach and the video conferencing capabilities that we so often use, I can't imagine that this topic has gotten Charlotte residents so up in arms over the location of the new CEO of Bank of America. Bank of America owns far too much real estate here in Charlotte and to sell it and purchase FAR more expensive real estate in NY in this market is, in my opinion, simply ludicrous! And, to whom are they going to sell it?! Another consideration is the cost of relocating their personnel to NY . Imagine the taxes that they'd have to pay in New York--well above and beyond those here in Charlotte. Those factors would deter any business from relocating from ‘reasonable’ Charlotte, NC to ‘exorbitant’ New York! (Sorry NY friends--I have had numerous transferees from NY and they all concur that our taxes are FAR less than those they had been used to paying in New York)! The City of Charlotte and the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce are both working towards a more appealing business climate here in Charlotte. Charlotte has always been ahead of the curve with small and large business relations. Over the last decade, Charlotte has been one of the most forward-thinking metropolitan areas in the country—and that is expected to continue with our new leadership. So, no, I don't think Bank of America headquarters is moving anywhere, anytime soon! Just my humble opinion!

I think B of A should move to Buffalo. Land is very cheap and there are many quality universities nearby.

Upper-middle class suburban homes can be purchased at very reasonable prices.

The suburbs of Buffalo are much better than those in the South. Southern suburbs might have some nice residential developments, but if you stray just a little bit, you have toothless, meth addicted rednecks in shacks and descendents of former slaves who are poorly educated and bitter because White Southern culture has held them down for 450 years.

You might want to try one of the quality universities nearby to Buffalo they might could help you understand 450 years ago in 1559 that neither the white man or black man had set foot on either southern or yankee soil.

For once,LC, I have to agree with you one thing. I think BOA should move to Buffalo but I would prefer Tobolsk become the home for their CEO. But I'm sure It won't happen. Even the nomenclature, BOA, is a joke. There wasn't any Southern culture 450 years ago but the Europeans had been here long before 1559. That is the reason French fur trappers found blue eyed Native Americans in North Dakota and Oklahoma. Europeans have been coming to this continent for eons of time.
