I wonder what the city intends to do to try and control this situation better. I wonder how many times is enough to get the attention of the mayor. I know its not all on his shoulders, and I dont blame him for the problem but I cant help but think if our police department was more visible (more cars on the road, etc) it may deter some of these criminals.
THe mayor has been critisized because he always takes note that the criminals are NOT from Florissant, well if thats the case then it only proves that Florissant is an easy target. If you were to ask a criminal what makes Florissant an easy target, what would they say?

I thinks they should shut down Highway 270 at the city limits in each direction. Start up racial profiling again, and also arrest any white trash lookin mofo that don`t belong.Only problem is the feds say no.

don't stop there. everyone in florissant should register their profile, give DNA samples and be issued a special ID, all newborns as well. We can locator tag with an insert under the skin, and report in daily as well.
Oh, wait, we live in a free society, free to move around, free to choose, free to be both good or bad. damn, we need to change a lot of things.
Change, oh yeah, we just did that.
How is that working out for you.

Thanks. You just proved that people cant share their opinion without being labeled. Have you been living under a rock or something? What I said wasnt a complaint, it was a question, what does the city intend to do about this? Its obvious we have a problem.
If I live here its my right and my responsibility to be concerned, to ask questions and to seek action from my government. If you dont care that crime is going up, if your too lazy to look at the facts, if your too naive to believe everything the mayor tells you, thats fine I will just consider you part of the problem. I will say this, one of the things the mayor and I do agree on is that laziness is a major part of our city's problem. People are too lazy to look out their windows or to call the police when they see suspicious activity, people are too lazy to get off their butt and go to council and town hall meetings and voice their concern, people are too lazy to get out talk with their neighbors. Criminals drive through this town, see very little people out doing stuff, they watch houses, they see very little police patrol in certain areas, and it starts appealing to them. If you ever took the time to go to a neighborhood watch meeting you would know that the first step in keeping crime low is action on the residents part. It cant all be done by the police, they need our help just as much as we need theirs. Even if we had 500 police, as the mayor said, there would still be crime but with the help of residents it can be dramatically reduced. Im no fool, I know you will come back with some smart ass reply or insult me some how. That just proves my point, your just part of the problem. What you think of me has nothing to do with the issues at hand and I honestly dont care what you think of me. My concern is the city, not what some unknown thinks about me.

The higher incidence of bank robberies is mostly due to the poor economy.
More police would obviously help by making the targets less appealing but if these people think they can get away on a bicycle, they are probably not rational enough to think about the the increased odds of getting caught due to a few more police cars.

anyone know what was going on at Florissant Meadows yesterday afternoon? Several police cars, Hazelwood and Florissant, and some unmarked Chevy Trail Blazers were in the lot. One lane of Lindbergh was blocked, lots of cars in unusual places in lot, and people standing around.

Anyone know what happened on North Waterford yesterday evening? Police were at a house, lots of people standing around looking distressed.

We dont have a problem do we?
Thanks FPD

President Obama did a walk through to determine if the area qualifies for Stimulus Money for a facelift.
