For all jap loving car owners just remember that you put alot of hardworking Americans out of work. How can you look yourself in the mirror?

I have seen Japanese cars that are just as crappy as American cars. Just because some
Japanese cars are very reliable does not mean all are.
Likewise, just because some American cars are not the best quality does not mean all are.
The real problem with American cars was not so much quality but more the size and efficiency.
The executives at the American car companies were a bunch of guys with a lot of money living in a big sprawling country while the japanese car execs lived in a smaller ciountry and took less money. The Americans thought, "People need and want these behemoths and gasoline costs less than milk so what is the problem?"
Yes milk costs twice what gasoline costs per gallon but I am not going to drink 50 gallons of milk during a one week trip with the wife and kids to Branson.
The Japanese cars are designed in Japan but most are made right here by American workers. So it is not the labor.
If you look at the cost of Japanese cars, they are not exactly cheap when you get the "quality" cars such as Toyota or Honda.
The Japanese were better observers and were designing cars for THEIR countrymen which just happened to be cars that we Americans could also use quite well.
The American car industry rationale and vision was poor and did not plan for the future. That is the main reason their business tanked.

Can someone tell me which foreign company has come to the rescue of GM or Chrysler?

Yet DOE has granted Nissan $2.1 billion dollars from the 25 million dollar stimulus package. Nissan was receiving $1.6 billion to retool its plant in Smyrna, Tenn., to build advanced vehicles and build a battery manufacturing facility.

The DOE says this loan to Nissan will help Americans by creating more jobs. All the money they receive from the stimulus package will be strictly for building fuel efficient vehicles.

Of course this allows Nissan to use their money they would have had to use on this technology to benefit themselves in other areas of their businesses overseas. Where was Japan, Germany and South Korea when GM and Chrysler needed a loan?

Auto manufacturers overseas don't tax the auto companies in their countries. Otherwise the foreign cars that are still shipped here would be much higher cost than their US built counterparts.

When do we quit giving our country and our jobs to people overseas who maybe our next enemy?

We should let the banks and the car people all fail.

Then we can be like Iraq and Iran and have wild madness with everyone running around in the streets all day killing one another because most are unemployed. That sounds like a much better idea to me.

Many of the union halls have signs indicating that foreign cars are not welcomed. As far as Wal-Mart goes even many of union workers either dont understand or just dont give a shit. Personnaly, Wal-Marts is off limits as are foreign cars. Your right we are giving it away! When American's stop being so damn greedy and start caring, not just about their country, but also their fellow countrymen maybe we can put this thing back together. Peace

I know of many circumstances where union laborers are cutting their buddies throats when they do a job on weekends or evenings on the side. We had a contractor do a small remodeling job which would have cost me much more had I gone through a construction company with union laborers. The same goes with auto repairs on our cars. I would order the parts online and my union buddy would come over in the evening and repair my car for pennies on the dollar of what the dealer would have charged me.

There is no real union brotherhood. Only inside their union halls.

Please tell us that you are relocating to Iraq so that you can rid your pathetic sick twisted little mind of what freedom means and get a taste of what tyranny is.

If you would read the JD Power and associaties survey on initial quality, you would not have said what you did.

Are you are better off buying an american car (GM, Chryler etc) that is made in another country (Canada and Mexico)...than to buy a foreign car (Toyota etc) made in the USA? Help me out with this one. American jobs are lost...but american companies profit. Or americans keep working, and the foreign companies profit. And I think Fiat just bailed out Chrysler....didn't they?

My Union brothers and sisters better take note. We will all be shopping at WalMart very soon....either because they run everyone else out of business....or we have no choice because their prices are so low.

Union demands drive prices higher and higher. If union workers would have been responsible, made quality products and not demand so much money the US auto market would be just as strong as the foreign markets.

What planet are you from? I am sure another that has never driven an American made car. Face it, the two foreign cars in your driveway put two Americans out of work. Please dont tell me about the quality. I have no respect for people that spout off about the American Worker.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Aquarius

Be careful now, because you could easily give someone the wrong impression and not even know that you're doing it. This is most likely to happen if you're trying to pussy-foot around them or avoid offending them, because that's when things could get lost in translation. You also have a tendency to sit on the fence now, which could make you seem slightly untrustworthy or shifty if you aren't careful.
