Good to see these troopers doing something useful rather than driving around bars hoping to arrest some harmless dude who stops and has a couple of beers with his friends after work.

this story - 800 people in danger of their lives - handled as an everyday event here in the midwest. a big wave swamps some boats in Santa Cruz and the feds are called out and it's covered nationally. I think the coverage bias follows the tax funds. Out here we pay our taxes in to DC and they send most of it to the coasts. then we take care of our own biz while they rely more & more on uncle sam.

There is NO WAY Minnesota Troopers could rescue 800 people. Based on the time needed to clear ONE (1) spinout one Minnesota Trooper could rescue two (2) motorists per 8 hour shift.

Mn Troopers are too busy parking their squad cars in freeway traffic lanes harassing motorists for going 67 mph in a 65 mph zone making roads more dangerous then safer.

The headline should read: 800 Stupid Azz Motorists had to be rescued because they're too stupid to stay home during a blizzard.

Could I respectfully say, you are an idiot. You will never catch a state trooper hanging around bars to catch a drunk, the drunks come to them out on the road. Get a clue, dufus.

I take it you've been pulled over? Or if you think you can do better become a Trooper.

IF I were a Trooper I would NOT park in a traffic lane.

If I were a Trooper I would CLEAR incidents off freeways ASAP.

IF I were a Trooper I would direct people I pull over for traffic tickets to drive to the next exit ramp, NOT parking along side the freeway writing a ticket.
