The NCAA speaks out of both sides of their mouth. They do not want the logo but were more than happy making a buck during the Frozen Four and the shirts they sold with the Sioux logo.

Easy explanation... Illinois and Florida are Division 1 schools. The NCAA will beat on the little guys to show how PC they are.
And the Sioux are not division 1?

The hockey team plays in Div. 1 as does St. Cloud and Mankato St., etc.etc., but they are Div.II schools.

All nationality logo's should either be eliminated or they should all be allowed to stay. I believe the NCAA is discriminating against specific Indian nationalities like the Sioux and other schools that have already been forced to make a change.

It makes no common sense to allow one Indian nationality and force another to be eliminated.

In a letter to UND President Robert Kelley, Franklin said the university must follow an agreement it made in October 2007 to discontinue using the nickname and logo by Aug. 15, 2011, unless it received approval from North Dakota's Spirit Lake and Standing Rock Sioux tribes.

And now it says it won't discontinue using it. Does that make the school an.....wait for it....Indian giver?

Relax people. It's a joke.

From the beginning it was silly of the ND lawmakers to think that their law was going to have any effect on the NCAA's policy.

They chickened-out and settled the suit. This time they shouldn't and prove how arbitrary their so-called rules really are.
it doesn't matter...the courts have told every high school, college, and professional team that if they want to play in that league...they will follow that leagues rules.

Being part of the NCAA is not a requirement. Colleges CHOOSE to play in the NCAA and in doing so, are subject to the NCAA rules and bylaws. Colleges have two choices...follow their rules or don't play.
