Inmates eat for pocket change in Alabama
Back in the day of chain gangs, Alabama passed a law that gave sheriffs $1.75 a day to feed each prisoner in their jails, and the sheriffs got to pocket anything left over.

I'm not sympathetic about the prisoners complaints. They broke the law and now they demand rights? pay back what they owe us (society), and we will let you go free. until then, let them eat cake!
