I am getting ready to accept a job and relocate to Birmingham from West Virginia. Does anyone have any suggestions on nice places to buy a house in the area? Don't want to live in the city. Not a big city fan. But preferably within 20-30 minutes of Birmingham. Any input would be appreciated.

The Northern suburbs tend to be redneck. The Southern suburbs tend to be snooty. The Eastern and Western suburbs tend to be dark.
