I know SHE had her own negligence in allowing her "mentally ill" son to have an assault rifle---NOT EASY TO HIDE!! Had she watched her son more closely herself none of it would have happened. She was legally responsible for him after all. I think the families of the officers should get every dime that woman has or will ever have. She should be held accountable for her part in it too. I do not believe for one minute anyone intentionally killed Farron, but he intentionally killed those officers.

They settled the case because the family of the officers showed compassion for the scum. This is the thanks they got for their compassion. I hope the family sues her for ONE MILLION and wins!!! She does not deserve one dime. Frankly I don't care what happened to Farron. I do care about what happened to those officers. Had he not CALLED them to his house and waited to ambush them, I MIGHT buy his "alien" crap!! This is the biggest miscarriage of justice I have ever known!

WOW! The way that I look at it is these are two totally seperate cases. It bothers me that you people are happy about someone being killed. Yes, he killed two people, he was sent to prison. Whether the families showed "compassion" or not is up for debate. I heard they paid to have him killed. Used the insurance money as a matter of fact. But, that's another case in an of itself. When Farron was sent to prison, that ended the murder case in Athens. Then, the other case happened at Kilby. Am I stating this simple enough for you hillbillies? The guards beat the shit out of him. His body was covered with bruises. Then, they drugged him or "over-medicated" him. Then, they put him in an unairconditioned room when it was 106 degrees outside. They told the family not to come down there when he died because "they didn't need to". They went anyway. The guards didn't want the family to see the bruising on his body. THIS is why Ms. Barksdale did what she did. She knows very well that her son did wrong. She has never said different. She is sorry and has blamed herself everyday since. She is sorry for the policemen's families and wish it had never happened, I'm sure. But that is her son. I cannot imagine the police doing that to one of my children, can you?! The state still will not release ALL the records. They KNOW that they murdered Farron Barksdale and will fight to the end to keep it hidden. THIS is what everyone should be concerned about. THIS could happen to ANYONE who goes to prison. NOBODY derserves to die like that. And yes, Farron was a schizophrenic (that means he had dillusions, saw things, heard things). Did any of you christians know him or are you just judging without knowledge? Farron Barksdale was one of the sweetest, shyest, humblest people I've ever met. The Farron that I saw would never hurt a fly. I KNOW that he was out of his mind with he killed those men and I KNOW that when he realized what he had done, he so wanted it to have been him instead of them who had died. The whole thing is just tragic in every sense of the word. I pray for the families of all of them. And I pray that my loving, forgiving, all-seeing, all-knowing and just God for all of you people, too.

We hillbillies think you are an idiot! Noone paid anyone to kill Farron. I have seen the pictures of his "bruises" and it was only ONE big one. I hope the family of the officers sued Mary and got every dime of the money she got from her lawsuit. The poor loving man you described called the officers to his house, waited for them with an assault rifle, and opened fire before they even exited their cars. Then he was smiling on the front page of the newspaper when he was arrested. I have no sympathy at all for Farron or his mother. If she had been as concerned about what he was doing before he murdered those officers as she was after, it wouldn't have happened. It is tragic that that scum was ever even born. I don't care what happened to Farron. He got what he deserved. And we got another POS off the streets and out of society.
