Alabama sheriffs feed inmates on $1.75 a day

Back in the day of chain gangs, Alabama passed a law that gave sheriffs $1.75 a day to feed each prisoner in their jails, and the sheriffs got to pocket anything that was left over.

It's nice that they trust their "trusty" supplemental labor, but I believe it's "trustee", isn't it? And I think I'll tell my wife about that menu. Let's see,$1.75 a day, times two kids, times 7 days, hmmm click click click,$24.50 a week. "New food budget dear". That should go over big, heh?

The prisoners should be made to reimburse the money once they are set lose.

Also for:
room & board
medical /psychiatric services
and anything else that a person outside of jail has to pay for.

But liberal extremists want to pamper these critters and criteresses.

i was arrested for a restraining order, first my husband beat me and then he went to the court and told them i was the one who did the wrong. he was granted a restraining order against me.. he took my son when i did get back into the home i first made sure it was legal. i went to the court, and had a amended order in which a sherrif came and gave it to me hand delieverd, seeing as to how this man had the right to beat me about my head, due to the fact his brother threated to kill my children, i told my husband i did not want to stay in the home when i attemted to leave he beat me. in the name and the power and the blood of jesus this is true, then my husband found out i was getting a lawyer, he got a lawyer, and we argued over the phone, when it escleated he attempted to strangle me with the cord. of the phone, so i ran with it he left i went to the bed room, and called police, they saw that he had the restraing order, and when i showed the amended order they did not care well one did officer willson he said no becwith cant take me to jail for violation of a restraing order. but becwith did anyway he siad my amended order was not vaild, i asked him to call the courts. he said i was trying to resist arrest, i went to jail. the second time i saw two girls beat on my son.
well for me i wish i died when i hit pavement due to the drunk driver. then you f americas could not torture me no more i would never have been beaten raped and toruteed by you
and i would not have suffered jail. i did nothing wrong to go to jail...
i saw two people beat on my son. my husband beat on me,,, an i go to jail.
oh and i did not eat anything while i was in jail. in jesus name i pray you all suffer what i have. seeing as to how you all swear you have something i swear something to and thats vengance for the crime you all allowed to happen to me.
you gave liquor a license, and i know too many people who drink and drive. see you americans in gods court seeing as to how you want him to bless you while you beat up the ones who did not do the crime.

if anything i would ask that you ask jesus to take me back to the car accident and let me die on the pavenemt so i was not tortured by you guys. i would beg you all to talk to god for me about the car accident and tell him please let her die... god you threw her threw the windshiled, she hit pavement let that person die there so her children dont suffer. if for any other reason dont let children suffer our hate for life. we hate her god. we hate claire. we hate her. let her die on the pavement. her brother is dead. she is alone. and we want to kill her.

no they freely did something that they knew was ILLEGAL and could possilby land them behind bars.
they made the choice, let them pay for it by being locked up, and suffereing the consequences of incarceration that they chose

sounds like your a little mad at your x and taking it out on this story,sad case no dought but you should realy try to relax.thats not the story.
