We need to disband the Birdsboro Water Authority, before we lose more control of our last precious resources and that would be the rights to our own water. We are very fortunate to have 4 different places we can draw our water from and I can see it now, just as God makes little green apple we are in danger of losing control and ownership of our water resources. A certain individual who is on the Birdsboro Water Authority also gets a pay check from another water authority and it happens to be the same authority that wants to sell us water? No conflict of interest with this individual, or is there?! What a coincidence, huh! We have nobody to talk to about our problems with the water. The authority took away this interface and hire a company (which I’m sure gets paid a lot more than the one person who did it before) to figure out the bills. We also have to pay our bills at the bank and do you think the bank gets paid to do this? If I ran my house the way this council runs the borough I would be on welfare and it looks like that is where the council is taking us, right to the poor house. At the rate the council is spending our money this town will be a ghost town in no time! If they weren’t so lazy they could try and get us some grants like other councils do for their Borough’s?

what ever happened with this? I've called the borough and the water authority and i quote they have no idea what I'm talking about and have never heard of any of this. i'd rather have reading water then no water, cause i can't raise 2 children and feed my family and buy water that is apparently laced with gold dust

Just for your info, I have found in the Aug 2009 Birdsboro Authority meeting that Reading withdrew their proposal and two other companies were under consideration. Cannot find meeting minutes beyond August 2009.

Rebecca VanderMeulen probably won't answer.
She was among the 52 Reading Eagle employees laid off in May 2009.
