There’s an abandoned race track in Nazareth, PA. Use that one.

it will turn out that the nearby residents will have endure noise, dust, traffic, and what ever. they should have the say about this. if you want racing going to grand view, williams grove, maple grove, other places. we had the reading fair grounds and that was fooled away. however, the residents of muhlenberg township and surrounding area don't have to hear roooom, bang, crash, etc. any more. forget the courts, let the citizens stop this nonsense. it would be a good idea to know who the lawyers, judges and others involved and deny them peace and quiet. maybe, as an extra don't sell them anything, do't serve them in the restaurants and don't repair their cars, homes, etc. let them become outcasts.

Well it's either this or a Walmart or a Target or some other useless hard top treasure. I for one welcome the race track and campground. It's going to give people something else to do around here.

So I guess you would rather it become a development where hundreds of people move in and destroy the environment? Or perhaps a nice shopping mall? Hopefully they put a nice cheese store near your house for that tremendous whine you have going on.

so what happens when a developer comes in and pays the money back to birdsboro for the township and they throw 300 houses up there. then everyone will complain because the school taxes go thru the roof because dbsd has to build more schools. would you rather have a race track a few days a week or tons of traffic and higher taxes every day. i grew up across the street from grandview and am a regular at maple grove. they have basically no complaints from neighbors. would you rather look out your window and see a campground or houses. not to mention jobs that will be brought to the area and people shopping and eating at local businesses. also the additional tax revenew to union township without any major impact to the area. people need to open there minds and see the good side of this.

You know, Ed Rendell has said that slot machines and legalized gambling is going to pay our taxes. How much relief did YOU see from THAT???

Lou Mascaro is a crook as is his family - open your eyes and do some research. Pat Mascaro has been involved in many lawsuits with his shipping SLUDGE (human waste) from New York to PA. Google it!

Do you think Lou believes in conservation?? He brags about bringing in SLUDGE and setting up pig farms on that land - do you read your paper? Google it!! He is vindictive.

Have you thought about the impact on the environment of hundreds of campers using the septic system? Or of all the dust and noise and pollution? How about the impact of traffic to those 50 year old crumbling bridges on river road and monocacy creek road??? 724 is two lane - is he going to widen the road and make it safer?

Is he going to rebuild all that, or are we the taxpayers going to foot the bill for all the road, the bridge, and sewage improvements that are needed to support this?

There are no police in union township. Who is going to come if something DOES happen? And again - it will be taxpayer money to support law enforcement if he builds his track.

Think about EVERYTHING - not just whether Lou makes (empty) promises.

He's going to have concessions inside the track - how much business are the local restaurants going to see? He'll hire a few folks to run the concessions and take tickets - you think that those are REAL good paying JOBS?

Don't be fooled. Do some real looking (google sludge and joe mascaro and pig farm) and then come back and say that he will be good for the community.

Oh and by the way – how many times do you see cash businesses declare everything for taxes?

Hey Dave I'll set up a loudspeaker in your back yard and see how many weekends of race noise you can take before you wish that you could BBQ without getting chills. I'll even set the volume to the "recommended" decibal levels for allowable noise.

The internet is full of stories about folks that live near race tracks having horrible impact to their lives from the noise. And YES - we were here first.

In Lime Rock Connecticut, houses went down 50% in value and sit for 5 years on the market. Guess what? I invested my life's savings in my house and I can't afford a hit like that.

So all of you who think we have a case of nimby - well you're right. Why should we have to suffer so that you can selfishly have a little fun at our expense.

The teenagers in this area need a positive outlet. There is nothing for them to do. A bike track with bring jobs and a positive safe place for kids. Tower City is too far away, we need something closer

We have all heard all the bad things against the track. They are all very true. The reasons to have a track here: 1. boast the tax base -- bull; the cost of keeping up the roads and bridges, the need for a police force, the downturn in property values, the lack of interest in living in the area, the crime that will come with the track, all will cost us more that the tax income will create.. 2. Bring business to the area -- bull; Mascaro will bring in his own cronies and equipment from far away, the jobs at the track will be filled with his friends, if we are lucky two nearby bars will benefit at best.

the track that is being built is going to be completely state of the art which means its going to be designed to where you wont be able to hear the cars in the surrounding area. if you do it'll be extremely faint. the cars, im sure will have regulations on noise levels and what not. te money coming into the area is more money than the people of that town can even dream of. so theyre dumb for tryin to fight it. looks like you should start gettin ready to join some sort of high end racing club. expensive but worth it

The track that is being built will have berms and barriers that will reflect the noise up so that the folks in Amity and Douglassville, Robeson and birdsboro will benefit from the increased noise after it is amplified by the Schulkyill River and bounced off the ridges of French Creek and Monocacy a few times.

Get a grip people - there is no way that noise in a bowl full of water is going to dissipate. Water amplifies noise and the rock and shale ridges are going to bounce it around. Nothing will be quiet anymore.

The folks that like to camp and hike in any of the surrounding State and Local Parks better get used to hearing the whine and roar. Geez I can hear 422 rumble strips from 2 miles away! Nothing dims the noise around here.

Hope you enjoy your great job working as a traffic director - oh that's right. Lou's creeps only hire their creep friends - pimps and hookers and other low lifes. Maybe he'll let you pay to come and watch.
