Everybody thinks they are a race car driver, and most likely driving a car that is really not set up for it. Cars not designed for performance are difficult to handle at high rates of speed and do not have the suspension to regain control when something goes wrong.

You betcha! I also love to rip the wings of flies! You should see what I do to barnyard animals, as well. Pretty tasty and bloody...

Two kids were drag racing on the streets at a high rate of speed and learned a hard lesson of what NOT to do. Did I ever do that? Nope. I was smart enough to understand that the streets are NOT a NASCAR racetrack.

I do have sympathy for the family, believe it or not. Their son is dead because of a driver doing something stupid and their son stupid enough to stay in the car.

Besides... If you prefer the sugar-coated, politically correct crap, you won't get that from me. Nothing wrong with telling it like it is.

Do yourself a favor... Go back and read "Winston's" comment. He hit the nail on the head.

At least he did not kill any one else besides his passenger who was his brother.

He did say, "You betcha!"

It's always sad when a young person loses their life. Especially when the reason they're dead is someone else's stupidity. My sympathy to the families.

Most of 61 is a death trap. I unfortunately travel it as I live in the area. To say people drive like it is a raceway would be an understatement. I would love to see the statistics on how many have perished on that road, i think it would be very scary.

The sad thing is that no matter how many times you tell your kids that this could happen to them, they still think they are immune to all bad situations. My husband was involved in a high speed crash, he was a passenger, where someone was killed and my kids still believe it cannot happen to them.

Maybe the solution is to make Berks County less boring. Until that happens I'm afraid teenagers there will continue to be reckless, because being that way offers them one of their sole sources of amusement.

When will these people ever learn. Because of his stupidity, he killed his 15 year old brother. For what? What seemed to be cool at the time? Now his mother has to watch one son fight for his life and plan her other son's funeral. I just don't get it, what goes through their minds. I remember being that age and I had alot more brains then to risk my life. If someone is killed in a true accident that is one thing. But to be killed racing or goofing off or drunk that is totally different. I feel so bad for the parents. I as a new mother could not imagine what she is going through right now.

People wake up!!! It can happen to you!

Both cars were 'road racing', it appears.

At 3;15 PM on a Sunday afternoon = in broad daylight.

Last week another kid was killed in a single-car crash at a high rate of speed in the same area.

There's a State Police barracks/ station right there at Hamburg. So what are they doing, if not out looking for this kind of thing going on right under their noses.

Amused Crack-er is 'right-on'. And the main reason this road is dangerous is because how these 'macho' but inexperienced kids - deluded by images from movies the likes of 'Fast 'n' Furious'- drive on it.

Thank you, and you're right... Screw the political correctness crap. That is one of the things that is weakening this country. People need to stop being offended by every other thing said and grow a spine and thick skin.

Thank you! Thank you! I'll here all YEAR. LMAO!!

I am caring. I have sympathy for the family that has to bury their son. My lack of sympathy is directed to the right place: The idiot drivers who are now in the hospital. Let them suffer and have life altering injuries to remind them of what fools they were.
