Is Gordon retiring or just not running for Mayor again? I was born & raised in BT but have been out of touch recently.

Gordon is the mayor and will be for the next bunch of years. When he found out that no one opposed him in the election, at first he felt the citizens of Birchtree approve of his being mayor. He said he felt great. Then he had second thoughts. No one in their right mind would stay at the office 40 to 50 hours a day, trying to get the city out of the deep hole the past administrations placed us in. He has been busy applying for grants for sidewalks, improved sewer and water syatems, attending grant writting seminars ect.
He devoted most of his waking hours doing everything in his power to bring the city up to standards.
No one in their right mind would spend that much time, expend that much effort and dedication to enhance Birchtree for $100.00 a month.
There are those that constantly bitch, complain about everything and are never satisfied but refuse to take part in correcting the problems they complain about.
Gordon has taken on this task and tried to mediate and pasify these individuals.
Others would say "Go to hell and don't vote for me next time. You run for the mayors position".
Not gordon. He copes with all the long term and immediate problems and is doing an outstanding job.
