So wasn't this election supposed to be a referendum on fracking in NYS and Broome County???

So Messrs. Lamb, Orzel and Abdelazim, can we frack now??????

It seems the people have spoken quite clearly.

You have all lost by wide margins, especially Mr. Abdelazim who was TROUNCED!

So can we drill now and revitalize our area??

Could you explain exactly how it would "revitalize" the area even if it were allowed...

Seriously...

To my knowledge we also don't tax the resource at value when it comes out of the ground - like states that have been in the oil / gas business forever do e.g. Texas and Alaska... the companies that do the drilling etc. are mostly from out of state and their profits and taxes on those profits go out of state... many of the workers that work the rigs - because the companies want experienced workers - are from out of state also and the same happens to a lot of their income...

Etc. etc. etc.... and that's not even mentioning the exemptions that they've gotten to pump whatever they want into the ground without regard to EPA regulations... under the guise of "trade secrets"...

So exactly where and how is this boon to the local economies going to happen... remember - as opposed to the typical boom then BUST cycle that has long been associated with oil and gas production in other areas of the country...

?!

Ed has given hundreds of dollars of his meager salary to the Libous campaign and is just doing what Libous requests of him.

Just two observations...

Those that guessed that he was silenced by the local Republican party due to his "help" causing them problems - seemed to have been the ones that guessed correctly... because voting is over and he can't do them any more damage and ta'da - he is here and elsewhere with his various ids spamming different sites...

Now if only we had started a betting pool of some type... we could make the winners buy the rest of us a round of beer with their winnings... lol !

Also...

By his own admission on this site - his position at the laundry is made up i.e. he clearly stated he does what he wants which means there is no real job... so I can't imagine he gets paid that much...

So if I were to guess...

Those contributions to Libous etc. were probably a way for his handlers to legally funnel money to various campaigns... then again - maybe he was so desperate for affirmation from someone in the local conservative party ( he did get a dye job and a perm for his pictures after all - lol ) that he really did donate it all by himself ?!

We may never know the full story... though I'm sure he will entertain us with ever changing versions / rationalizations through the coming days, weeks, months and years... ;-)

Wasn't it a referendum on fracking??????

The people have obviously spoken.

All thelocal anti-fracking candidates, except Lupardo, went down in flames.

And none of them decides if we proceed with fracking in this state. I know you spent most of your life in Canada Ed but if you are going to live here in the U.S. you should understand how things work.

If you want people to take you seriously... or least more seriously than anyone does currently...

Try using your real name or at least the same id between posts... as opposed to this constant spamming of different sites and creating / using one id after another...

Until then...

You have been... are... and will continue to be... the butt of one joke after another... on the forums and in public...

It's just a suggestion.

Lamb said he would work to bolster the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ongoing study on fracking and add his support to a piece of federal legislation called the "FRAC Act" that would make fracking subject to federal environmental regulations from which it is currently exempt.

Mr. Lamb, can we frack now????? Huh?

Two items to highlight...

Item one is that - as you were unwilling / unable to answer the question I posed... we'll all have to assume that you had no answer - which negates your claims in your original post...

Item two I quoted up there from your own post... something which highlights the concerns of a lot of NYers... especially as those of us that care about the state don't want another Love Canal / similar due to those exemptions...

Is there anything else you would like to help us highlight ?

Ed doesn't own a home so he really doesn't care if property values go south because of drilling. He really isn't even a renter either because his employer let's him dwell in one of their properties.

Referendum? If anything, it shows that incumbents have an advantage.

Julie Lewis, who was probably the biggest drilling supporter running in this election cycle lost by about the percentage as Abdelazim did.

How convenient of you to leave that one out.

Did you expect a clean sweep by Republican of all seats????

That would be unrealistic, wouldn't it?

Face in Donna "The Snake" Lupardo, the ultimate waffling, hypocrite and fence-sitter is difficult to get rid of.

It is hard to point to anything she has done wrong since she hasn't done anything at all.

But really, the question goes out to Dam Lamb, Tarik Abdelazim and John Orzel. Hey all stated very clearly this was a referendum on gas drilling. They staked their campaigns on it. Lamb lost, Abdelazim said the same thing he lost by even more. John Orzel claimed the same thing and he lost by a landslide.

So can we frack now?

PS Does Dr. Mohammed still have room in his basement for Tarik?

You proved my point that Donna Lupardo, an incumbent, is difficult to get rid of.

Again Julie Lewis, the Vice President of the JLCNY, built her campaign around gas drilling. If this were a referendum about gas drilling then she would have won.

Thanks for playing!

Please point to where Orzel said such a thing. His position was on hydrofacking was very neutral.

Again you lied Arzouian.

When a person says something meaningful - they only have to say it once because others will listen / read it and repeat it for them...

When a person doesn't have anything meaningful to say - some of the less stable of them are inclined to repeat their own words over and over in the hope of garnering even the slightest bit of attention...

Btw...

We all noticed you're repeating your posts not only here but also posting / repeating them verbatim on other sites...
