Just wondering if anyone knows of anyplace that sells live snails / escargo in or around the Binghamton area... I'm looking for pomatia or aspersa with a preference toward the former...
Who knows... if I find some and can get more than we can eat... maybe I'll even donate some to the "Kerri G" traveling petting zoo... lol !!!
If anyone knows of anywhere I can get them then please post... thanks in advance.

From looking at the judgeing, i see kerri was the first one to read your posted start of a discussion's, and she wants some of us to mind our own business!
even if kerri did know where to find some snails, she's not fast enough to catch them.

I have no idea.. but I'm curious, how does snail taste? Is it like rubbery chicken? That's my guess.

Yeah - it does look like he was the first to read and "judge" my inquiry...
Not only that but it's kind of funny that I mention something that is most often identified as a French food... and today he is babbling about having a petting zoo in Franch... lol !

Well the texture is kind of like a cooked clam... and the flavor I would call "earthy" i.e. kind of like a mushroom type taste...
The part that is kind of funny is that over on the west coast and quite a few other places - you can pick the darn things out of the grass... and they're actually the same species that they have over in France... ones that were brought over years ago and let loose / escaped into the environment...
Over here in NY though... I guess the weather isn't quite a well suited for them... and to add to that - they're listed as a "pest" which means all sorts of regulations... so much so that if the information I was sent is correct... you can't even have them shipped ( live ) to the state...
I guess if I can't find live ones I can always order frozen ones and have them shipped...

Why don't you try Montreal. Or would you be afraid? There are some alumni there you might be interested in.

It seems you're having ESL issues again... or is that just another example of your contempt for civilized society and the law - as it was already clearly stated that importing them to our area from anywhere was illegal ?
Btw and speaking of alumni...
I actually know quite a few alumni from various schools up in Canada... as a result of me running the software side of a company up in Toronto i.e. we hired qualified graduates from all over... and most of them were pretty darn smart guys and gals - with good personalities and morals to match...
There were the intellectually challenged and deranged psychotics out there from those schools also... but fortunately the crew I hired warned me and everyone else they knew about them... so we didn't have any distasteful occurrences like having to fire anyone and have no-contact orders placed against them...
