Does the former hotel desk clerk who wants to be Broome County Executive Tarik Abdelazim have connections to the Muslim Brotherhood? He is a so called city planner who is also an Islamic Cleric who has performed marriage ceremony. How far will he go in the support of local extremists?

Hmmmm...

I didn't realize that there were religious affiliation qualifications required to run for public office in NY state...
Now that you've pointed out that they are... would you mind sharing which regs are applicable... and what religious beliefs are required to hold office... because people would like to know!

Thanks!

What branch of Islam does he adhere to? Of course, there is no religious qualification. But a candidates religion is fair game. We need to now more about his faith. For example does he adhere to the Koran and it's view of women and homosexuals? Does he believe in Jihad? Does he hate Jews?

Why aren't you on here demanding to know whether politicians etc. who declare themselves Christian has a low view of women... or gays... or Jews... or whatever...

After all...

Christianity ( in whole and by fringe groups ) have a very long history ( much longer than Muslims ) of intolerance against others... and taking quite horrific actions against the folks they have targeted...

That is to say...

Instead of your disingenous insinuations against one person and his beliefs... perhaps you should be going after all politicians and each and everyone one of their beliefs... including potential ties with extremists... their views of women, gays, Jews and so forth...

Its just a thought.

Both candidates are totally inept and under-qualified. Broom County will continue to be the laughing stock of the state with either Preston or Abdelazim.

Kraham was a loser and Fiala was an idiot and now we going down the scale some more.

There is an investigative report from a major investigation firm that will put an end to this gentleman's political career.

Nah - bigoted opinions on blog posts aren't facts.

That is why after four years people are still laughing at others who post that.

What about Preston illegal tax payer funded ,fire code breaking roof top smoke house. What about firing her code officer in Conklin for pissing off one of her friends by telling them they needed a permit. She then took the guys job in pay only and gave herself a raise on top of it. How many people get jobs with zero qualification plus a raise?

Of course, those are valid questions-- but do you ask those same questions of Christian or Jewish candidates (or those of other less common religions)? I'm not sure if you've read the Bible, but it actually has quite a bit of nasty discourse and demands stoning people to death for various things, actively encourages slavery and warfare and other vile things.
I understand your point of view, however it is naïve to base your questions around a specific religion. If someone hates Jews, it doesn't matter WHY they hate them. If someone thinks we should wage religious wars, it doesn't matter WHICH religions they are advocating warring on behalf of or against.
Although the Qur'an does make some pretty disgusting demands, so do all the other Abrahamic religions, as noted above. Singling out Islam for more "critical analysis" is absolute bias.

And what about Tarik's buddy Matt Ryan putting other people's lives at risk by speeding, becuase he knows that his Johnson City coutnerpart will throw the ticket out?

Or how about him taking a bribe from a fellow democrat whose daughters happen to own the worst SUNY bar in torn so that Ryan will write a letter on behalf of the bar to get its liquor license back? Even though they yelled FIRE to get people to leave which could have caused a stampede that very easily could have led to deaths. Ryan fights for THEIR license back even though they have dozens of underage violations, including one international incident when they allwoed a WELL KNOWN underage athlete in and stood by with inadequate security when he stomped anotehr student to within an inch of his life?

How about those? THAT is why Tarik has no shot more than anything else. The only way a democrat can win in Binghamton is if they have distanced themselves from Mayor Ryan. And Tarik apparently didn't get that memo.

I LOVE it when the iditos have to sya "Christans stone people" becuase yeah...that goes on ALL the time now!

It is even more pathetic than the rest of your life when you have to compare things that happened THOUSANDS (or even hundreds) of years ago to what Muslims are doing EVERY DAY.

Christianity got over its growing pains. The Muslim extremists have not.

Well...considering that is going to be over 60% of voters, what does that say about your life...other than you will be suicidal a week from Tuesday?

As I read over these posts I see the side of don't be prejudice against him for his religion... and people bringing up the Jews? Come on, they are as American as apple pie.

Simple question is has any Religion ever attacked America???

YES, only Muslims.

Why did Ryan appoint Tarik, no proof but probably because some wealthy Muslim gave him money toward his campaign. Payback is a bitch. Do you really think he and Tarik are best buds... be serious.

Does anyone find is even slightly out of the ordinary that pre-911 we never saw a Muslim candidate anywhere in the USA, now they are popping up in local town, cities, counties, states, and yes and even a President who was raised as a Muslim but then became Christian when he decided to run for President.

How are elections won in the good old USA?$$$ the more money you have the more chances you will win. Where have we been sending $3-4 a gallon for gas, MUSLIM Nations. They have BILLIONS of DOLLARS of our money. They can and will win elections, You choose.

As with most elections you have to choose the lesser of two evils. Good luck with that.

Winslow, I'd think you're brighter than this being a semi-professional. I think Ryan appointed him because Tarik is smart. Unlike anyone who believes and spews off this kind of message. Although we get it posting this in the hope that it will rise to the top of search engines in time for the election.

In fact you did say one thing that is true, money buys elections. Debbie Preston accepted alot of money for the fracking effort, she will as expected and already shown carry out her deeds in return for the money she bought the election with. Why do the fracking companies spend so much money trying to promote their product? It seems so obvious that if they had a viable and safe solution to nat. gas extraction they would not have to spend so much money. THE PEOPLE ARE SMARTER THAN THEY THINK (well some of us anyway, probably not anyone trying to read this though)AND THEY ARE NOT FOOLED. You and the rest of the arian brotherhood responding to this rediculous claim can go back to planning your annihilation of all other races now, the election is over.
