Hi I just got a job in the Area and I was wondering if someone could help me find something out. I have heard that the Internet is pretty slow in binghamton, any truth to this and is there any other High Speed ISP in the area that have good speeds?

Your moving to Bingetto? Good Luck Buddy, you'll need it. TWC is about the only thing around and they have the market covered, very over priced. Do yourself a favor, stay in Syracuse. Take a job at aburger place as there is nothing worth coming here to

Don't let the two ghetto idiots that respond like this to everything deter you. Binghamton is a nice place and glad to hear you are coming. As to answer your question, there is no difference here in internet speed. Time Warner provides a fast service here and you will be happy with it.

Binghamton is a wonderful place and the negativity that you hear is from a few that escaped the mental hospital. Soon they will be caught and returned to their padded rooms and life will be back to normal.

Some were smaller than Bingo, some larger, and some about the same size. But ALL were nicer. Bingo ranks last in my experience, and by a wide margin. Sorry, but it's true.

Sorry but you are the disease and the cure is that you left. Small minded people like you aren't usually included in the survey. The sooner that you learn that the sooner you can move on with your miserable life.

Sure JR Murphy. Keep drinking the Kool Aid. I'm a negative person because I found Binghamton to be the worst place I've ever lived? What about the extremely positive opinions I have about most of the other places I've lived? How dare I point out the truth about your old, run down, corrupt, crappy little city with old homes, buildings crumbling downtown, lousy roads, rotting infrastructure, insane taxes, inept local government, crime, and a horrible local economy. I was being polite in my earlier post... blunt truth is that Binghamton is a toilet precisely because of pollyannas like you who refuse to even recognize the HUGE problems that are obvious. It's why Bingo has lost population every year for decades, why NO real business would ever seriously consider relocating there, and why it's a crappy place to live and raise a family. Oh sure, you are still remembering the famous "good old days" from 40 years ago, but they are dead and gone. Like your city.

And there you have one of the standard idiotic replies from local apologists whenever someone leaves Binghamton because it has become such a dump. Truth is that so many of us have left that you now have a much smaller tax base and... you have lost many, many of your best, hard-working, money-making citizens with good ideas. We got tired of being ignored by the corrupt local politicians, tired of the growing crime, tired of the decay, tired of people saying the area is great when the decline is so obvious. Now you need to give me the other standard response... "good riddance" and maybe tell me how Binghamton is great because of the Speidie Fest and carousels, or how it was once a top-ten nuclear attack target during the cold war (not true BTW). You local apology makers are hilarious.

You "formerly local" bashers are sad. If where you are is so wonderful, why do you haunt Binghamton forums to constantly tell everyone how awful it is? Isn't there something better to do in Miami? I'm w/ J R.
