Preston has a career of public service and accomplishments. At this point in her life her college days are not as relevant.
If her campaign... either directly or via her use of "supporters" on local public forums... make the claim that level of education and similar of great importance when it comes to deciding which individual is best suited for the position...

Then she MUST be willing to submit to the same level of disclosure as she is requiring of her opponents... because to do other wise gives the appears - at best - that she is hypocritical... and at worse - that she is hiding something about her own background...

Yet the reality to date is that - again - her own supporters seem to be unclear about her background... her background ranging from the topic of education that her supporters highlighted - to the claimed accomplishments in government positions i.e. none of which have been listed over the past several months...

It's a simple premise... even you should be able to understand it...

Let me explain this again. This time read it slowly.

Preston is well known in this area and has already demonstrated her leadership. She has proven herself and doesn't need to prove more.

Then we have Abdelazim who is a known flake. Why would he waste $45,000 of his father's money and take up a precious slot in medical school? Obviously money is of no concern for him.

Why is the Press looking into how Preston spent $581 instead of how Tarik wasted $200,000 on Binghamton's useless Wi-Fi project that only covers 1/10th the City of Binghamton.

It seems to me that if she had so many accomplishments over the past 8 months as you claim... and her supporters were so proud of them...

They would be spending their time shouting those accomplishments from the tree tops... but instead what we have been treated to is several months of her supporters simply engaging in a smear campaign against her opponent... and harassing and making threats of physical violence ( even on this site ) against those that so much as ask about her credentials...

Curious.

Tarik,

I belieive you were at the top of your med classs when you dropped out to manage a hotel.

So what if you wasted $45,000 and took a spot in the class that could have gone to somebody else. You were fidning yourself and that's more important.

Your case would be stronger if you released your transcripts.

Show everyone how smart you are.

Three weeks now and still Tarik Abdelazim is unable to substantiate his claim that he was at the head of his medical school class. In fact there is no proof anywhere that Tarik was ever at the head of ANY class at any time.

Just as interesting is the local news media which chooses to publish the claim without verifying it. In another local election these same so-called journalists/hypocrites spent weeks trying to pinpoint the date two decades earlier when somebody joined a certain union. They chased that for weeks even though it was meaningless.

Here we have Abdelazim making unlikely claims and they choose to give him a free ride.

That's your biased left-wing media

I think we can stop right there because you've already plastered it on other sites -AND- it has already been addressed... but here is a re-cap:

* The quote was "top of" which could mean anything up to / including simply being in the top half of his class... but he did not say he was "head of" i.e. first in his class - as you try to claim... and the contrived controversy you are attempting to generate is based on nothing more than you purposely mis-quoting what was said... which makes no one look bad except perhaps you...

* He actually made it into a competitive M.A. program after leaving the school in question... something that wouldn't have happened if he had bad grades / was even in the lower half of his class... because entrance to programs at level are based on graduate exam scores and the person's grades - with the most recent grades having the most weight...

Along the same lines and also as mentioned in the other forum where you posted this:

* I find it curious that so many of Preston's supporters want to make the educational level of the candidates an issue... especially considering that Preston's campaign has been pretty darn opaque in regard to her own credentials... something you think her supporters would take her to task for... but all we've seen is silence and obfuscation.

* I've seen many posts on forums where users have made derogatory remarks about BCC... quite a number of the folks behind those posts are also Preston supporters... and here is the gotcha - though it is unclear what if any degree she obtained - Preston went to BCC... but according to her supporters that shows how well educated she is... and those two items taken together form a contradiction.

The way you can spin this into meaning top half is ridiculous even for you.

Abdelazim has claimed he was a top student in his class before dropping out and wasting $53,000 and a valuable medical school slot.

Abdelazim, not Preston, is the one who made his education an issue. To make this controversy go away, all he has to do is release his transcripts.

Seems like such an easy thing to do, unless he is hiding something.

First off...

I'm curious where the additional $8,000 is coming from... because all of your dozens of prior posts said it was $45,000... are you saying your information was incorrect ?

Second...

I've already asked this in the past and you always ignore the question... if it was his money to spend and he decided to spend it on education - who are you to question it... do you really think you have a say in how others can / cannot spend their money and if so - is it some divine right you believe you have, communistic tendencies on your part or...?!

Finally...

He went in... spent a year or so and decided it wasn't a fit for him... and he left and got a different degree... for anyone even remotely familiar with college etc.- seeing someone do that isn't unusual in the least bit...

Now what would have been a waste would be what you seem to be suggesting he should have done... that is - get into the program... decide it wasn't for him... and then continue on until it was finished knowing full well that wasn't the direction he was going with his life...

You've spammed this nonsense dozens of times here and on BCVoice... and it's been answered just as many times... but here it goes again...

Paraphrasing... he said he was still in the top of his class but that medical school wasn't a fit... so he left and pursued an M.A....

From that you distort and try to make the claim that he was "head" of his class i.e. 1st... and then demand to see his transcripts to prove something that you - not he - has claimed... so this isn't a controversy except in that wierd little world you have created inside your mind...

Other points...

It has been you - making those false claims... that began the mantra that a candidate should release their transcript(s) to the public... and that is what is being ask for here i.e. if Preston's supporters are so infatuated with that idea... then we would expect them to be demanding to see HER transcripts... but again nothing except silence...

Well almost silence... when there wasn't we were treated to the contradictory claim that Preston's educational credentials i.e. degree if any, courses taken, grades received and etc. were of no importance... that in fact - for the job - her supporters said they were of no importance... lol !

Last but certainly not least...

As I mentioned in another post... he could release his transcripts but without a reference i.e. knowing what his class mates in each specific class he took received as a grade... you would not be able to ascertain if he was at the head of his class, the top 1%, 5%, 10% or whatever... because you would have nothing to compare his scores to...

That is to say... even if he did release everything... I and most others could easily conceive of you ranting that it would be his responsibility to figure out a way to get / release everyone else's records... and if he didn't - oh - you would continue raving that it must mean he is hiding something... because that's the way you've behaved in the past and seeing as you appear adverse to change... the way we expect you to behave long into the future.

What a moron!

Who cares if Abdelazim said it on his web site or not? What difference does that make? He stated it in a front page news story, that's far worse.

Nobody believes a word of Abdelazim's story and he will never release any documentation to support it because he is a liar.

What a ridiculous comment!

Whta a moron who made it!

What difference does it make to voters if Abdelazim said it on his web site or not????

He made his silly claim in a front page news story.

Nobody believes of word of Abdelazim's explanation.

Abdelazim will never produce a single document to support it because he is a liar and because he can't produce any such documents to support his story because they don't exist.

Anything he put forward would show he flunked out.

So you believe that getting into a competitive M.A. program - like Abdelazim did and then received his degree from after deciding medical school wasn't for him... indicates that he "flunked out"...

Ok then... thanks for sharing... lol !!!

See, now you understand.

Everybody knows he flunked out because he is too lazy to put the necessary work in.

Ask the doctor.

I spoke to a Ph.D. that is also teaches at the university level and has a number of Master's and Ph.D. students under their guidance... and they said that yes - it would be highly unusual for a person that "flunked out" to be accepted into a competitive M.A.( or any other ) program...

Your point was...?!

Do you have some sort of mental condition Ed?

What degree, if any, does Debbie Preston have?

Does Debbie Preston even run Broome County or does that Libous lackey Bijoy Datta really run things?

It's kind of interesting...
Arzouian tried to brag about how he thought he was more intelligent than everyone else... using the fact that he somehow got into a fairly well known school to back up his claim...
But when it was pointed out that according to his own timeline it took him either 5 or 6 years to get a basic BA... and that despite his education things like the use percentages was beyond his capability...
Suddenly we have someone jumping on various sites trying to question the educational credentials of others... as though the individual doing it is somehow trying to deflect folks from his own expansions on the truth...
Curious.

Look how MICHAEL goes after Ed in every topic and post. Why? Never admits that Ed is successful and well educated. Why is he obsessed to this degree? You have to favor Ed in this. He is calm, reasoned and a gentleman.

Tarik won't need to prove he didn't flunk out of college in his next mayoral election bid as none of the people who will be voting for him can read anyway.
