I have been following this story. A lot of my friends and i have discussed it. It is a free country, but seems like not much of a life to have for those kids. They also are traveling depending on the public to provide support. I read wheere they hope it is not too much snow crossing the New Mexico Mountains, which makes me believe they are a little naive about a lot of things. There is no way they can cross the Rockie's in the winter on that bicycle. Just not possible. We already have snow in the higher elevations and freezing conditions in the Sierras out here, that is the Rockies and it is also cold there. The parents need to think about all this before doing that in the winter. The Rockies and the Sierras in winter can be very dangerous to travel in a four-wheel drive vehicle. A bicycle is unbelievable that they would try it. |

Yes Ajax, I agree with you...I think about the long desolate areas in Texas, New Mexico and so on! I wondered also if they have been staying on the East and Gulf Coasts as they travel staying in more population . I can't figure out why they are teaching their kids such a nomadic lifestyle? I know it is tough all over but I just wonder about how this family's lifestyle was previously. I think about the fact they rely on the public for assistance and I can only imagine the people that come to their aid and the feeling it gives everyone involved. It amazes me to see them travel this way with the kids! Is someone/thing waiting for them in Alaska?

I read thbesr people`s website too and from what I read they decided to do this, not because if hardtimes or anything but because they liked living this way. They never said how they would live in Alaska or even what they were going to do to get prepared for the winters up there.
They are supposed to have some peple sponsoring them acording to their website and they have it set up so people can donate money to their account. They say they like living green but I see them staying in motels and eating foods like pizza, potato salad, cold slaw, dounuts and icecream. People who are into green living don`t usually eat this way. They usually are eating at someone else`s expense too. Sounds to me as if the guy has a gimmick going and uses the kids to get people to donate and help them, lady is the same way. They are educated and talented so they are capable of working I just think they like this kind of life and figured a way to get people to finance it. They keep saying how wel the kids like it and how much they are learning and so forth. However the kids from what I see are learning how to con people and get a free meal. Their friends in Kentucky tried to talk them out of this. Texas is a big and has a lot of wide open spaces, get big hail storms and lots of wind and lightning. I think it is dangerous to do what they are doing and they are placing the kids in danger. Just my opinion. I think a lot of people are helping them because of the kids and some of those shops get a little advertising out of it. The man does not seem to know anything about bicycle repair and the woman seems to think nothing the fact they are totaly depemndent on handouts from kind hearted people. |
