I wonder if it was a net drain or a net benefit. Considering a lot of businesses actually had to close early & lost money it would be interesting to see if they were pro or con for this tourist event.
Idk, I'd rather go to Spring Break in Florida. Other than cruising for the views or going on the beach just to bbq or to get some sun what's the point?
Even before the oil spill the water was nasty to get into. I didn't swim in it then. I sure as hell don't swim in it now. Much less each the seafood. The other week I read about those shrimpers down there near Grand Isle finding shrimp with no eyes & smaller shrimp & reduced shrimp count.
People are gonna eat that garbage & get cancer or sick in other ways. Watch in another decade ppl who eat a lot of local seafood or who swim in the water will start getting weird skin diseases or illnesses.
And its one of those 'if you don't laugh @ how fucked up it is you'd have to cry' things but BP managed to bribe its way out of any liability.
Its amazing what a little bit of campaign money will do to even the most alleged liberal Democrats.
