I Recently went to Dad's Super Pawn Located at 3125 25th Avenue (Hwy 49) Gulfport, MS 39501 I PAYED FOR A CHROME GUN AND THEY TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT ON THE BACKGROUND CHECK AND WHEN THEY CALLED ME BACK MY GUN WAS BLACK AND THEY TOLD ME THAT I COULD NOT GET A REUNFD AND THAT I HAD TO TAKE WHAT THEY HAD AND I TOLD THEM NO!!!! I WANT WHAT I PAYED FOR. SO THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY WOULD ORDER ME ONE AND WHEN THEY CALLED ME THEY SAID IT HAD COME IN BUT WHEN I GOT THERE IT WAS THE SAME BLACK GUN. NOW I'M TAKING THEM TO COURT FOR FRAUD.. SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE DON'T SHOP THERE. THEY HAVE A NICE SELECTION BUT IF YOUR NOT THE RIGHT GENDER OR COLOR THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF YOU.

I believe there is more to this story than is being told. I know theses folks pretty well, and have never had any bad experiences with them. In fact, I have had several great transactions with them & found them to be highly reputable!

I have bought many guns from them and I can back their professionalism/ quality. They have a solid reputation and they are without a doubt the best gun store around. They have a no return policy, but allowed me to return an item for in store cash credit. I will return for my next purchase soon and many more to follow.

I don't believe a word of what you have said! Dads has always been fair and resonible with their customers! Also if you live in GA I hope you have a concealed carry permit! If not you are not buying a handgun in MS!

Well if you Live in GA and purchase in MS, then you MUST have a FFL dealer in GA receive the gun for the transfer, if you claim you were picking it up in MS then you better live in MS. Didn't you notice the serial number of the weapon? Sorry that you think you were getting ripped off but the information you presented does not match the law.
If you have other facts to support you claim then good luck. But legally they can just hand over a pistol purchased in MS to a non-MS resident.

By far one of the best businesses I've ever done business with. I went to Academy and then shopped Dad's. They beat the price by $80 and also gave me great service.

Good Luck on your problem, but I'd try going back with an olive branch before I spent money on litigation.

In the early 2000's i purchased a special order weapon from Dad's. When I picked it up, everything was as it should be, the price was exactly one dollar more than another shop, but at the time felt safer dealing with the larger weapon handler, Dad's, at that time!
I guess it was a year or more later, my boss' home was broken into, and robbed. The crooks were caught, but not before doing the same deed multiple times from hattiesburg to bay st.louis. Many items were found on the theives, but lots of items had already reached the pawn shops, and whoever else would buy hot items.
My boss' wife recovered a few items at the police department, but was told it may benefit her to hit local pawn shops to search for other pieces. She did, Dad's had several pieces that she described to them, some of which were hand downs from her mother which were engraved with initials. Unfortunately, she was not convincing enough for them to return the items. Though they weren't extremely valuable, the personal value meant more.
I know it's a business and businnesses are to make money, but I would have a hard time sleeping at night knowing i was holding something that belonged to someone else. No matter how I aquired it.
I'm sure had this incident not occured to someone this close to me, I would have purchased more weapons and other items from Dad's. However, I've decided to steer my purchases to another dealer, great deal cheaper too.
So, "justalady," if you would like some info on a great firearm dealer, with the best prices in the state, feel free to ask.
So who is the best

Aren't the federal laws for buying a handgun that you must be from that state you are purchasing from? And the laws for buying a long gun state you must at least be from an adjoining state? If you are a resident of Georgia I don't think you can buy a gun from MS unless you are a dealer. Just wondering if the laws have changed cause its been awhile since I checked.

Everyone at Dads are the rudist people I've ever tried to deal with, you could spend ten thousand dollars with them and they could care less if you ever come through the door again, I'll never spend another dime with them.Dads is a pawn shop, not a gun shop. Buyer beware, if you try to return something forget about it, there is no such thing as customer service with these people.

AVID COLLECTOR, you come off as a disgruntled and ignorant douche. Last time I checked, there is no "I" in rudest, and proper context would be "they are the most rude people". Which is the furthest from the truth. Expect good service and great price with knowledgeable advice. Take the dime you just saved and put it towards a dictionary or a personality, your choice, just like it is when you select a new gun that immediately turns into a used gun the day AFTER you bought it. They do have alot of nice guns there.

One of the internet thingamajigs millions of spelling/grammar Nazis posted. They look for the smallest thing wrong. Well let me make you feel at home. It's "a lot of nice guns" Original poster maybe an ignorant douche but from your tone so are you. Your personality is Oscar the Grouch. I hesitate to shop at Dad's if someone like yourself likes finds it satisfactory.

Wish the original "ALL CAPS" poster had followed up. Just cause they posted from GA doesn't mean they live there. I've been to Georgia dozens of times. Used the internet while there and even posted. Gasp! Never lived there.

People today also keep their DLs when moving. Yeah I know not legal but fairly minor compared to what congress is doing. I have an out of state friend that has had Miss. plates on his car for 20 yrs. He's been here maybe three weeks in that time. On visiting him I saw why. Parking tickets for parking next to a hydrant. What hydrant? Must mean that one 9 cars back. He said it happens all the time and since Mississippi has no agreement with that state it's cheaper to buy plates here than pay parking tickets written by revenue hunting morons.
