I think any Adams County resident would be just foolish to even think about re-electing any of the current commmisioners. We need new blood, it's the only way we are going to fix the mess they put us in. Don't forget the reassessment!

Its not often that we can all agree Adams County Citizen, but this is one of few times that I don't think you would find much opposition to your statement.

I get the feeling that four years from now people will be criticising the board elected this fall the same way they are complaining now. Things just don't change. None of the new candidates have a clue what awaits them. Just like the previous new candidates didn't.

When will we learn that what politicians say during the election and how they govern once elected are two entirely different things. Doesn't matter which party they are. This county has been screwed up by Republicans and Democrats.

Very cynical view, but one I totally agree with. We can keep preaching about throwing out the bums, but I think too often we forget to complete a thorough review of the candidates and just follow the other sheep to the election booth.

People, whoever you vote for, make an informed decision. I have done vast research on all of them, and well, I am not impressed at all. What we need in Adams County is some of our great citizens to step up and take a lead. The choices for Commissioner this year are terrible. Good luck finding the diamond in the rough.

What an absurd comment by Reindollar that businesses despise Adams County and people in Gettysburg. We do not need that sort of unfounded negativism in our elected officials.

Mr Reindollar is the only one willing to tell the truth, get out of Adams County and ask some questions, we are the laughing stock of Southern Penn. Mr Reindollar is right on the money and getting my vote

I just wanna take a second to thank the Adams 912 Patriot group for putting on this event. Groups like this are exactly what this country needs, if we are going to save ourselves from a mountain of debt.

Why pick on Weikert, if your mad about reassessment blame the property owners at the links, they are the ones who brought the law suit and despite that a reassessment needed to be done and whomever the commissioners are at that time, people just want to kick, if their taxes go up especially. If they went up, maybe you have been paying too little for 20 years, I was. And Yes business does despise Adams County, as soon as they look in to coming here we got the preservationist screaming, but we cannot all live on ghost tours.

Why pick on any of the current Commissioners or
Solicitor Hartzel? Well because it seems they ALL sold us down river by signing that poorly written and poorly followed contract with 21st Century. The Links had their properties overvalued with no action being taken in the Assessors office, just like many of us have experienced. Taxes had to go up true, but the County and 21st Century values were Not Accurate. We need to pay attention and 'Clean House'.

You have GOT to be kidding! He was in a position to do something and he let in turn into the complete fiasco it did. He wears that failure prominently as his badge of futility! The whole board of Commissioner failed to recognize the evidence presented to them in the Formal Hearings, in correspondence sent them over the months and in their meetings. All three of them need replaced. And while I'm at it BEWARE of Randy Phiel. He is a clone of Weikert coming from the same township. PLEASE be advised to steer clear of their names on the ballot come Primary time!

It about time that somebody starts pointing out the hard truth. It kinda funny how people complain about a resort/casino but don't lose a minute of sleep about building an outlet mall on one of the routes used in the civil war. Nobody complains about a "pillow tax" or higher sales tax to suck more money out of the tourist that, thankfully, still come to Gettysburg. If it wasn't for the tourist money Gettysburg would be a slum!! Reindollar will not BS you and it would be a huge step in the right direction for the county if he held office. We just need two more like him and the county will be a better place immediately. Go Reindollar!!!!!!!!!!

Tourism has been declining steadily for years in Gburg. It will pick up with the 150th celebrations and then decline again steeply. Gburg is not a slum but it is surely losing businesses and tax payers. I applaud Mr Reindollar for having the guts to make his statement (and I think we all know who he was referring to when he said what he said) but pointing out the problem is easy. I would like to know what solutions he is offerring.
Ah yes, the mythical solutions that will immediately make things all better and solve all our problems. I hope the 20% of the people who vote realize that there is only so much a county commissioner can do to change things.

Can they reduce state tax rates or other broader impediments to new jobs and businesses? No.

Can they tell some of the preservationists and people who want Adams County to remain a jobless paradise for retirees to knock it off with the badmouthing of any sort of modern jobs? Yes.

Oh...and you probably don't live here and you weren't at any of the meetings I bet.
