Restate that, the casino is not acceptable or tame by any manor.
Thanks for your OPINION!

Let's ask all the ghost tour businesses to go out to the battlefield and ask the deceased soldiers and see if they get a response regarding their feelings on the casino - like an evp session. just a thought
I would say a great idea. They do their walks on the battlefield, after all the town of Gettysburg was a part of the battlefield. But they can't go on the National Park.

Seems they are only concerned about stuff around here being family friendly when it is not their supporters! How family friendly is telling the stories of the whores that followed the soldiers from battlefield to battlefield infecting them with diseases.... not 500 yards away from the entrances to two elementary schools.

You CONSTANTLY bring up other negative examples that exist.to justify and rationalize why it is "okay" to continue to do so - if any good comes out of this it would be to take a long look at where we are and HOW we got here and commence the process of making real changes to enhance the wonderful things about this area.

You moved here - why? what brought you here in the first place? You still have not (nor has anyone) answered my question - what town that has a casino is better or nicer (in your opinion) than Gettyburg or Cumberland Township? For those who are bored with things here - have you ever seen a large city at the top of a watershed?- REALLY? WHy do you think it has remained this way for so long? Use your brains instead of your mouths or move downstream.- It is just obnoxious to exploit a down economy NATION WIDE to suggest that a casino here would help us. It insults our intelligence - the last time this attempt was made employment was NOT an issue - I listened to the video in its entirety from the shoplocalbuylocal meeting - To his credit, Mr. LeVan states - who am I kidding ?- I am doing this for myself. End of discussion on his motive.

Penn National got on board to cover their ownership of the gambling market in his area - if they get a license it just means more overhead expense for them and less profit - think about it - they ALREADY have the gambling market here!! If you did your homework on the MO of Lashinger you should already know that he is not here to stay - he was hired to get the job done

As for Mr. LeVan - I still do not understand him - his legacy whether he is successful doing so or not will not have anything to do with the positive things that he might have done- it shall be - I'm the guy who tried to bring a casino to Gettysburg - Even if he wins - he loses

Thanks for your OPINIONS. And that is all they are. And you really expect anyone left here is buying the watershed bs? How concerned about it where you when you filled your pool in April and only your dogs were using it? I never said my OPINION on the soiled doves tour was anything but my opinion (notice I am not trying to pass it off as fact) nor have I said it needs to be shut down. I would assume it is private property and they are within their rights to be running it. I personally think the location near the school is not an appropriate place for it and wonder how many children that walk to those two schools will go home and ask their parents what soiled doves are, but again all my opinion. My reasons for living in Gettysburg and Adams County are really none of your business and no one is going to answer your assinine question about other casino towns so deal with it.

Ms. Sykes - You refuse to answer because you know there IS NO place better

Your OPINIONS are no more or less important than anyone else's on these blogs.

You call the water issue "BS" - clearly you are ignorant about these issues or you would not come out with that statement. You cannot name a large city at the top of any watershed because there are none.

If not for a significant historical battle or the establishment of a college this place would still be just agricultural - the Ag industry is still # one in this county. Look beyond the 15 years that you've lived here. You might become enlightened.

Your retorts are unnecessarily rude and contribute absolutely nothing. We all know your position. We happen to disagree. Your nasty and often vicious retorts are telling in every respect. You justify those by saying that you respond in the manner in which you were engaged - that is not always the case. You are what you claim to abhor. Anyone reading these posts can see that. Clearly the firewall between your brain and your mouth has not been activated. Do us all a favor and turn it on please- we may not agree with you but you surely must be able to find a civil way to converse and express your position.

Two "wrongs" have never equalled "right" - whether it's lack of civility or comparing one vice with another

I don't have the Video and could not find it, but I recall him saying something like "I'm in this to make a profit." Then a short pause and he said something like "and when David LeVan makes a profit it will be good for Adams County."

But I many have that confused with the meeting at the bowling alley. So excuse me if I have that wrong, but it was said at one or the other

And may I ask what is wrong with making a profit? Especially since you will need workers to make that profit. And if you put people to work, they make money also.

Apparently only Mrs. Sheppard and her NCG buddies are allowed to make a profit off of anything in Adams County!

Like sell actual hallowed ground for development that will actually dig up ground within site of the current park border?

Let's ask 10,000 stupid questions about how she plans to go about things. For example, she better have an archeologist on hand in case they find any unmarked graves.

Csi team and a coroner and a medic to deal with all the construction worker's trauma. Not to mention a dna expert so we can determine their lineage and then all the historic people on stand by to argue over where to rebury them.

AMEN and I mean that in the most respectable way.

This is not a war. Respect is the name of the game and each persons view should be taken with it.

Sharon, maybe not in this particular forum, but there have been many answers to your question on another forum about this subject.
