Gettysburg shucks slimy docks.

I hate Gettysburg. I hope the whole forsaken little borough is flattened by a phalanx of tornados. Wipe the ground clean. Let's just start over.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Gettysburg and truly loved the entire experience . However, one thing struck me as odd while there. Why is it that so many monuments are erected for the side that lost? It must also be noted that I am not an American, but a person born in England that is now a Canadian citizen.

The Confederate statues are puzzling to me. I liken it to Nazi statues on Juno Beach, or monuments of The Kaiser in close proximity to Vimmy Ridge. Of course there is no such statues or monuments in either of these places. And, there will never be. Because just the sheer notion is absurd and insulting. Can somebody explain to me why there is so many Confederate monuments at Gettysburg? I知 sure I値l get the usual ignorant replies doused in racist speak and anti anything/anyone not from The United States is shit, but I知 truly in awe of recognizing the losing faction of a war.

Cheers

Have you ever tried a Gettysburg Sausage? They are an old Civil War recipe, borne of a time when rations were in short supply.
