Lets see you pay 25000 dollars each for 3 extra cars and that makes up for what less they get for them for high mileage? Where did this guy go to school! Wasnt the school of common sense! And he's protecting you? Ah I forgot officer Big Ones can drive 3 cars at once! Just like east berlin, "CHIEF" Grim must be able to drive two cars at once! What nonsense!
Huh??? Where did you go to school? Your grammar, spelling, punctuation and reasoning suck. Oh I'm sorry, maybe you didn't graduate from 6th grade, or were you one of the Special classes. Sounds like you have an axe to grind and it has nothing to do with the article subject matter. Did summer school let out yet? Did you ever hear of spell check?
Now, as for the subject- The trade in of the car theory sounds reasonable. After all, many large businesses and rental companies do the same thing. I would like to see his studies just out of curiosity. My god- some of you and your personal attacks are appalling, you probably don't even know the man. Give him/them a chance. They do appear to be professional. Calling it-as I see it.

Who on earth is voting for those moronic Cumberland Township officials?
----------

I will be out there voting them out!
And it is time for FEWER OF THEM.

We have a bloated police department ( 19 total ).
Way too many police cars out there.
A bunch of wet behind the ears kids out there writing bogus tickets, harrassing the residents, etc etc

And where are they when you really need their help??
In Gettysburg Boro, on the battlefield helping with a group that should be ignored, sitting in the cemetery or Toms, or some place else other than Cumberland.

Over sending is at its highest.
Thank Cumberland Supervisors for the latest increase in your 2010 taxes ( so they can really put it to you after the reassessment.

Oh, and don't forget the lack of protection for our resources ( water and land ), with the continual development building with water and sewage needed and not adding this into the cost to the developer. And why allow it if there are no resources available??

Then we had the fiasco of the sewage plant mailouts ( twice ), personally delivered by an extra mail person, another blight added to our countryside ( proposed sewage plant ).

And how many groupie supervisors do we need??
Add to this the recently exposed "healthcare" perk going on in Cumberland and many other townships.

And ... guess what, Gettysburg Boro, you are getting our manager!
And Adams County got one of our finest in the Commissioners Office.

People are NOT paying attention.
And if they are .... they need to take more action.

Nice job by the Chief throwing his counterparts under the bus. Too bad he just couldn't state his case with evidence about his department rather than note what other departments are doing and throwing them under the bus.
So if the other departments do it, then it must be OK - sorry Chief - that doesn't work for us.
Get Levan to buy you guys some cars. Your department seems to do whatever he wants for Bike Week, etc. anyway.
Obviously you don't know what you are talking about. In this country, similar comparisons or area comparisons are common place in all types of workplaces, businesses and even the government. Maybe you just didn't comprehend the article due to your obvious dislike of the Chief and Mr. Levan. You must remember that the media and newspapers often, and sometimes purposely, omit information or statistics just so idiots like you post nonsensical personal attacks. The theory seems reasonable and maybe the Evening Sun should follow up on this. Calling it-as I see it

To everyone who thinks the CTPD gets everything they want and at taxpayer's expense, ask yourself: Do you put on a bullet proof vest and go to work everyday? Do you work holidays, your kids' birthdays, the midnight shifts? Are you required to show up for work even if there is two feet of snow already on the ground and its still snowing? I think its high time we stop critizing our police and fire departments. Everytime a city, boro, twp, or county needs to cut costs, the first thing they look at are the police and fire departments; the same people who put their lives on the line everyday and dont even expect a "thank you". How about looking at cutting some of the bureacrats first. Leave the police depts alone. Until you're the chief and you put your life on the line, assume that maybe, just maybe, he might know what is best for everyone.

Maybe its the "ED" Its ok to talk about it, hell there are commercials on TV. What is "over sending" Did you ever hear of Spell Check. You go right ahead and vote them out and do me a favor, vote out all of the cronies in Washington too. I know you can do it- Your vote is the savior vote. GOOOO GET EM!!!!!!
Oh, by the way, what does all this nonsensical crap you spew out your hole have to do with the article????

It would be nice if the chief had the numbers to prove that it was cheaper in the long run. I wonder if each car is equiped with all the same equipment. Equipment that could be moved from one car to another when one isn't in use. I'm glad there's a citizens group asking questions. I would hope the township officials have the numbers to back up their claims. We need to keep a close eye on these people.
Again, a genius question. My God man/women, you are a Keyboard typing Ninja Einstein. Apparently maybe you better ask the Township Supervisors and the Chief. It was reported that studies were done. If I am not mistaken, wasn't there a article in the Gettysburg Times outlining the testing and evaluations.

Moving equipment. Hum, how do you move radios, consoles, cages, video cameras etc. from one car to another. You should be a Rocket scientist for NASA- My God, Washington should hire you to be the Townships/County/City and any other Police department Czar. You found the missing link to all of the countries police departments equipment and vehicle woes.

The "Numbers" were given from what I understand.

I nominate you to be the end all, be all Czar. Czar Nuff Said.

Wake up idiot!

There are nine (9) full time officers, including the chief. The others are part time that help with filling the schedule due to leave time, sick time, court appearances, etc.

What is your reasoning for fewer of "them" (is that what you call officers...them?). You ask Chief Boehs on an internet forum for more studies, research and justification and yet you don't 1)provide your name or 2)give reasoning and justification for fewer of "them".

It sounds like you have a personal axe to grind with "them".

Huh- All over what town? Hanover, Gettysburg-where? In what car? Learn how to spell before you post. Oh, by the way- none of the chiefs in the the western part of the county smoke- you idiot! Maybe you should learn how to spell "Chief" before you criticize them in public.

Who exactly are these "Concerned Citizens"? Publish the names and addresses of these folks. Their website doesnt list anyone in particular and I for one would like to know just who they are.

Maybe you are reading something I didn't in the post you quoted. I saw no name calling, just pointing out false information & biased bullcrap. If you cannot make an intelligent, factual remark then stay off the forums. If you have a legitimate gripe, backed up by fact, then go ahead present the argument.

Thank you!! I couldn't agree more!! Have we heard anything about the supervisors taking a paycut to help with the budget!! How about the supervisor who also works for the township? Think about it 9 full time officers 24/7 that would mean they would all have to work 18+ hrs every day to cover the 168 hrs in a week. That would also mean no vacation, etc. I hope that any member of Concerned Citizen who think that the PD needs less vehicles never has an emergency!
