The Chico city councile is very well known for their extortion. They have been getting away with it for years!I agree it would be beneficial to replace them.

First to the person who is writing this letter,“You do not live in Chico, therefore you do not have the right to comment on its councils decision’s”. If you want to be part of those who can comment, then move to Chico, otherwise keep your comment’s to the areas that you are qualified for and that is the Magalia area. The council’s decision on Wal-Mart are usually taken out of context and repeated by those who never even heard the original comment. Instead comments are made on something that was repeated. If you follow the whole process you might make a more informed decision. Investigate Costco’s planning process and then check out Wal-Mart’s. Then comment on what was done. I am tired of people who are like this author and make unfounded comments on repeated information., They do not even have the ability to investigate anything and yet they are so much in authority on the subject. They can write here.
Wal-Mart has always been after other business to close down ,so they can thrive. Look at the wages between Wal-Mart and Costco. The two are night and day and any honest employee would rather be paid the scale of Costco then that of Wal-Mart. Plus Wal-Mart burns up employees at a fast rate. Look behind the Mask and you would see that Wal-Mart is not as honest as it portrays. If you like Wal-Mart so much, why are you not promoting it to be in Paradise or Magalia?

I've been to Arkansas and Oklahoma where Wallmarts are very prevalent. I never saw a small Wallmart like ours. But I did see Super Walmarts in stip malls where everyone made a buck. What I see in Chico (if the city does'nt get off their butts) is ANOTHER VACANT BUILDING adding to the multitude of others. Maybe they could turn it into a huge drug store. THE COUNCIL doesn't seem to think we need one on the south side.

Strip mall sprawl ,now there's a lifestyle to emulate.
