So how the mayor, and the new city commisioners working out?

Heard something about a Mrs. Green charging the city for full time services when she run two or three other water works systems!

It is Mrs. Greenhill and she and her husband do take care of the water system for Big Wells, and several other communities, but she also is the City Administrator, and seems to be very good at her job.
As far as the Mayor and new commissioners, I can see improvements in the city that really needed to be made. I say good for them.

So she the city administrator, and has her husband working under her. that sound "legal"! how does she mange the other cities if she full time in Big Wells. She may be doing a great job, or maybe those under her, but the time (hours dont' add up for her pay. Some thing is not right!

Really can you be more specific as to what improvements they've done.oh and do we have a meter man that checks the meters every month cause for what i was told was that i wasted more water this month than the last,i would like to see them check my meter once a month thats if they are certified or they dont need to be .thanks alot.

They do check the meters every month, but also, they will recheck if you want them to no problem. You can also find out what day(s) the meters are checked every month so you can be present when they go to your home.

As far as Mrs. Greenhill, the commisioners, and the mayor...I think they are doing an outstanding job due to what the previous administration left in the "new" administrations lap. They are trying hard to fix the past mistakes. It takes time.

Mr. and Mrs. Greenhill do run other water systems but those water systems contract people out like them to get the job done.

I will correct you being that she charges for what she knows. You take all the classes she has taken, the time she has spent traveling, etc. and do her job, and then tell me you would not charge to do a high STRESSED job that involves lots of paper work, time, and traveling!?!

The things you need to remember is if she makes a mistake, the city pays for it. Wouldn't you want someone in the office that knows what they are doing? Or are you just too busy trying to stir up trouble for people that are trying to help the city?

One more thing...she gets paid a "salary", meaning, not an hourly wage and not certain hours to be there. When she is there, she is definately working...when she is not there, guess what---she is still working, regardless for the city or the other contracts she has, she still has a job to do.

even people on salaries have to put in so many hours...which she does'nt. If you take that high salary and divide by the amount of hours she works...Big Wells can not afford some one like her. Can the Sr. citizen of Big Wells afford the luxury of the GREENHILL'S experience. The city is not there to make a profit on water, it is there to provide a service, too break even. Again...like the previous person said, go to the city meetings or have your parents go to the city meetings. If you ask the person directly, they will tell you why and what is going on. People are quick to assume something, but until they actually know, they really should not open their mouth.

As far as Mr. Greenhill, he was contracted to the city before Mrs. Greenhill was hired. They run a business together. So, for the most part, many of their jobs will be run together. Same business type, almost same jobs. I am glad they are there simply because they know what they are doing and have been trained to do it.

You said I did not mention Mr. Greenhill and you are right...I did not, but you also did not mention what I said about them going to school. You would rather rant at the mouth then ask questions directly to them?!?

Oh, and believe it or not, yes...cities can and will make profits on water. Sometimes it is the only way to get the city out of any type of debt. The money they are making for the city does not go back to their pockets, only their salary does. All money earned goes into the water account for the City of Big Wells, then you have to take the cost out of reading the meters, the sewage, trash, etc...then they and all the employees get paid...by the time that rolls around, there really is not much left in the city account.

Go to the meetings Pure Pedo, ask questions...talk directly to these people and you can see for yourself that they WILL talk to you, answer an questions and address any of your concerns as quickly as they can...you have to remember, your concerns are just a few of how many they get everyday.

How do you know exactly how many hours Mrs. Greenhill actually puts in? How many times she has stayed after hours to do something? How many times she has traveled to Austin to go to meetings for the city, to try and straighten the mess up from the previous administration? Do you know about all of this? If you went to meetings you certainly would, and they would gladly try to answer any questions you may have. I know that for a fact!! Your parents and grandparents being on set incomes has nothing to do with having or not having a City administrator. Try going to the meetings and asking questions. This is where the problems lie. Everyone is quick to jump and say that something isn't right, but nobody seems to be interested in going to the meetings and finding out what is truly happening. The current administration WANTS people to come to the meetings and ask questions. If they did maybe there would be less assumption and more understanding about the current situation. Your parents affording the Greenhills has nothing to do with any of this. Maybe you can explain how having the Greenhills is costing your parents any more than there normal water bill!! First of all, to say that you "wasted" 9,000 gallons, is idiotic. Do you even have any idea what the word "wasted" means? You may or may not have "used" 9,000 gallons would be the proper way of putting it, but then again, maybe, just maybe, you DID "WASTE" 9,000 gallons. As far as the prices go, I know for a fact that if you are unsure if your meter is correct, all you have to do is call or go to the city hall and tell them that you don't think that the meter reading was correct or you think that there may be a problem and they WILL look into it. I have asked them to do that very thing for me. I do know that they will run water into a five gallon bucket while they watch the meter run, to be sure that it is running correctly. Just ask, they will not bite your head off or scold you. It is only to their advantage to be sure that everyones meter is reading correctly. I guess by you telling them to stand up for themselves doesn't include you.

Leaving me to think that you are related to mayor or one of the city commissioners...a good guess would lead me to believe that you are the mayors wife "GAYE". The bottom line is that the City of Big Wells does not need the GREENHILLS. Others have done the jobs that they do for much less money. You talk about all the training and schooling they have, to get a Water or Sewer Operators Cert., you only need a GED. You start out with a "D" cert., and work your way up till you get a "A" cert.. So don't make it sound that the Greenhills are some miracle from heaven. Once again the city has always operated with local citizens going to the schools to get certified, and operate the system. As for everything else that you claim the Greenhills do, its been done by normal citizen of Big Wells.

Anyway, to answer your statement, because it was more than a statement, not so much a question, but I will bite at it...I am not person whom you think this could be. Your statement on the City of Big Wells not needing the Greenhill's, well, that is your opinion and I respect that. However, I do have a question---Yes, there are water certifications from D-A that anyone with a brain and commen sense can get, but as with any certification, you do have to keep up with continuing education, still a lot of paper work to deal with---that by the way, not every person can deal with due to the high stress level's it can cause, and you do have fuel cost of traveling to said education, meetings, meter readings, etc. But, whatever---right??? Does not matter, they are working for the city and the person to accuse is usually the person not informed---and that is usually by that person's choice not to know what is REALLY going on!

Oh, one more thing, yes...there are employees other than the Greenhill's working for Big Wells that do check the meters too and handle other issues, and you know what, they are good at it too.

I'm not saying that Latinos are'nt educated, just that you seem to defend this administration a whole lot more than what they are worth. Big Wells has survived without the Greenhills, and my parents and grandparents do not need the expense of the Greenhills. As for stress to get the job done, its Big Wells, not Washington D.C. And I bet if you check the Greenhill get travel & expense pay for goinh to austin or where ever you say they go to, it does not come out of their salaries.

Bottom line is if you are latino, you must be a Coconut, Brown on the outside, and think your white on the inside!

What everyone seems to forget is that the current administration is having to clean up the previous administration's mess. From what I hear, there are still many issues they are having to deal with. Definately takes time.
