Even I know the difference in deadly snake (diamond head) and non-deadly snake (round head)and I am not a science teacher. Look out for a law suit against the school and teacher. I hope these students will be alright. No more snakes in the class room!!!!!

All animals regardless of what kind should always be checked and identified by the proper people before they are brought to any institution where people can handle them. You don't know what problems they may bring with (diseases, bacteria, etc..) Especially where children are involved when you should know that curiosity gets the best of them...THINK!!!!!!!

Ok,*obviously* the teacher didn't use the best judgement, or have the appropriate knowledge. That's a given. But how come no one has mentioned that those kids were playing around with that snake when the teacher was otherwise occupied, and they know darn well they shouldn't have? They have some responsibility here too.

You can't end a sentence with a "dangling participle" for starters. Secondly, any dildo can tell the difference between poisonous and non-poisonous snakes in North America.

Poisonous have a triangular shaped, diamond-like head. The only exception is the coral snake. Red and yellow will kill a fellow. Red and black is a friend of Jack.

Non-poisonous have nice egg shaped or round heads.

Get a clue science guy!

If there is EVER a doubt, don't let the kids touch it!!!!!!!!!!

Wild animals should never be allowed at school because you do not know their history, that is regardless of the type of animal.

Now, in the teacher's defense she had told the two students to stay away from the cage and they ignored her directive. I'm not saying they should have been bitten because of it, but if they had listened to their teacher it might not have happened.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, everybody knows "red & black blah blah blah. Get a grip. Different times of year, snakes are different colors and the cotton mouth does NOT have a specific diamond pointed shaped head as yes we all know as poisonous. It is a easy mistake, none the less the situation should have been more controlled. The language you used for your response is an easy give away on your intellect.

This is real sad. Kids have to deal with so much in poor Texas schools who are on the bottom of the list for as education, now they have to deal with poison snake bites. Maybe this is a shake up call and the teachers will think more on the safety of the students. This is just unheard of.

Ok for the first thing poisonous means if you eat it, venomous is if it bites you, the venom comes out, and that is a fact!!!! look it up.
and yes the teacher was a total ass head, but there is nothing that can be done now!!! so lets all just get over it, and for the sake of everyone else, god send him to hell!

Snake heads DON'T determine venomous and non-venomous! You are all going to get MORE people killed, not less!

I learned in the Boy Scouts that was a wive's tale. In the 1970s. Catch up, hillbillies.
