Cops employ such biased tactics that there is no difference between a street gang and a police department.
Well, there is one difference: the police get away with murder each and every day.
If at all possible, I'd rather deal with my drama myself. Even when robbed I didn't call the cops. It would be like getting victimized twice.
I know EXACTLY what you mean - I could tell a bunch of stories about the cops down here and how they go about their job. But I will just tell you about one.
Right after Hurricane Wilma hit and nobody had gas, one station opened up, it was a Marathon on Federal Hwy in Pompano Beach, FL. There were people lined up everywhere waiting for gas. There was a rumer going through the line that people were being charged over $4 a gal. A group of us stopped a cop that was walking around and asked, he said no, they were selling it for what was posted. BULL!!! after 4 hrs of waiting in line, they were selling for $5 a gallon.5 cops standing around watching. After I got my gas, I went to one of them and asked if they were aware - one told me that if I didn't like it I could dump it out. Cops are useless pieces of crap!!!

unless the dog suddenly starts talking, how are you going to prove it? although weed is pretty harmless, i'm waiting for other ex-cops to jump on the band wagon & start selling tapes on how to conceal weapons or cover up a murder... i'm all for the legalization of weed, but this isn't helping that movement at all, its just making people hide it even more!
I have an uncanny ability to notice and interpit the actions of animals. Some people say it's freaky, anyway, I was watching an episode of cops the other night and to me it was sooooooo obvious that the cop gave the dog a command to alert. I dont' know how anyone else wouldn't have noticed - lets see, they stop a car they think may have drugs in it. Just some punks on a joy ride. They get the dog, take him directly to the back quarter panel of the car near the gas tank intake - then actually point at the gas cap while holding the dog about 2 inch from it. The cop points at the cap and the dog goes off - I'm sorry, but that was sooooo scripted it was rediculous - they confiscated the car and arrested the boys - never actually showing any drugs that were found, what a crock.

I'm a parent of three, and although I do not want my children to ever do anything that could potentially harm them. I said soon after their birth, "If my children were ever going to get involved with anything, I would prefer it be marijuana". Just for the simple fact that "pot" doesn't kill. Look at the facts:

1) Car Accidents - People die in accidents caused/assisted by alcohol, so much that we now have MADD.
The only problem with pot smoking drivers is they drive too slow, and they are constantly making sure they are driving correctly. It's called "paranoia"!

2) Road rage - Alcohol tends to make people more irritable and obnoxious, making road rage a probability.
Pot smokers won't care if they get cut off, or flipped off, or whatever. They don't even like to drive because they have no interest in any confrontation. They are at peace with the world, at least until their buzz wears off.

3) Domestic Violence - This issue would probably go away entirely if everyone smoked a joint when they got home instead of having a cocktail. So many domestic violence issues could have been avoided if alcohol had not been present. I think it’s safe to say there aren’t many arguments that stem from being stoned.

4) Health Risks - Both Alcohol and Tobacco pose serious threats, which are so many that I could be here all night listing them! They are both considered poisons, and can kill you. Alcohol for several reasons, which I think everyone, knows, and Tobacco with all the poisons that companies put in them. Not to mention that extra kick they give it, which makes it addictive!!

5) Rehabilitation – A non-issue with marijuana, it’s not addictive! No one has ever gone to treatment for pot. Just the sound of that is ridiculous. Yet there are AA meetings going on all over this country, and an alcoholic can still go grab a drink anywhere! And smokers are paying big bucks on the latest “quit smoking” gimmick, because it’s so addictive.

Although we have all been fed the same BS all our lives on pot being dangerous. And how it's the "gateway drug" that leads to heavier substances. It's all a bunch of malarkey! If anything alcohol is the gateway drug! But yet the government's still gets their cut, and the same with cigarettes! They aren't concerned with the public's health or well being. It's a money issue. They haven't figured out how to manage it, not to mention their allegiance to the tobacco industry, because of the many 'contributions' made to their campaigns and the lining in their pockets! And funny enough, many of the same politicians and lawmakers opposed to legalization, smoke pot themselves!

The truth is we can all come up with many reasons to legalize marijuana. Even ‘Time’ magazine debunked the myths. But nothing will change until there is either a mass public out cry for this to occur, or they figure out how to make enough money to justify it. That’s the bottom line.

Legalize marijuana and get over it! Feds are afraid of the latter because it would cut their plush budgets and they would have to do real police work- besides mailing jokes on the internet all day.

I am sure the alcohol companies are against this. Look at all the hypocrites yelling say no to drugs while Binge Drinking is all time high. IN ADDITION LOOK AT THE ABUSE OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS. These people continue to abuse alcohol and prescription drugs and think nothing of it because these products are Legal.Talk about hypocrisy!!

well just because there are things out there which can impair judgement and are legal does not give an automatic pass for legalizing mind altering substances like pot. All I need is an airline pilot to get high before the plane gets high..if you know what I mean.
a airline piolet can not drink or use and mind altering substace before a flight. you point is moot.

How about taking personal responsibility. Do ANY DRUGS, LEGAL OR ILLEGAL force themselves upon anyone?

You mean like the couple who got drunk before they took off at MIA last year? Doesn't matter if it's legal or not, it's prevalent and legalizing will just free up prison space for what it's really needed for.
Personally, I couldn't care less if someone wants to spark up a doobie- as long as they do it somewhere where I don't have to smell those noxious fumes.
That is the most irritating part of it.
If someone's drinking themselves under their carpet in their own home or backyard, I don't care because I don't have to smell it.
Not so with pot- you can smell it for a few blocks.
I don't want my kids taking in the aroma of it and don't want my AIR affected by someone else who wants to get stoned.

You're an idiot. We had so many other priorities at that time- like no traffic lights, nothing but a few canned foods on the shelves of grocery stores, powerlines down, and neighborhoods resembling third world countries.
You were lucky to get gas at all!
If you felt you were being gouged, there were ways to report it to the State, not to the local law enforcement who had their hands full.
The least of their problems was you bitching about how expensive gas was.
Now, I used to respect law enforcement. I don't anymore.
But, not because of gas prices after Wilma.

Noxious--something physically harmful or destructive to living beings**** There is nothing Noxious about pot smoke.Inhalation of Marijuana has never killed anyone.--If somone is drinking themselves under the carpet they usually end up puking and passing out and could die. I do not like the smell of alcohol, puke or drunks. And yes you do smell when you are drinking. Also drunks are usually smoke cigarettes, are loud and billigerant other factors not associated with pot. I do agree with you, no one should violate somone elses space wtih something they consider offensive like pot smoke, farting or cigarette smoke. I use a Vaporizer Inhalation device for Cannabis use.It never burns the HERB so no one else is offended in the room or affected by my use. I think what has hurt the pro pot movement is the sterotype of the lice ridden, unwashed, Rainbow People in a circle passing a joint. In reality Bankers,Lawyers,Judges,Peace Officers,Teachers and Clergy all spark up IN THE CLOSET.
