It is apparently confirmed now that Hooters is indeed coming to Countryside. But hold it right there! Still photography might be permitted, but videotaping is ILLEGAL at Hooters in the United States of America, straight from Washington DC! The proof is at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index... The only possible explanation for the only answer is that the entire Hooters franchise is protected by Federal Motion Picture Copyright. Meaning anyone who videotapes at any Hooters establishment in the entire United States of America can not only be accused of disorderly conduct; anyone who videotapes Hooters can also be charged with copyright infringement and possibly even piracy! Under Federal law, copyright infringement carries a penalty of up to 5 years in prison and even a $250,000 fine.

Actually, it has nothing to do with Copyright, it has much more to do with privacy. Hooters is a private franchise and the privacy of it's staff appears to be paramount.
You may not know this, but in fact, the United States of America is not a good place to videotape at indoor public-use places, especially such as restaurants, shopping malls, libraries, stores, museums, and other similar type of places. In the United States of America, the vast majority of public use indoor places are in fact, contrary to popular belief, owned by private organizations. Additionally, due to the growing Police State of the United States of America, videotaping by civilians is one of numerous rights that is being eroded and stripped away. Even the police apparently hate being videotaped by civilians.

It's not the act of videotaping. It's the posting on you tube. Go ahead and call the cops and tell them someone is videotaping near a Hooters. You will hear "so fucking what?" No one will arrest you. Additionally, even if you post it on you tube, you will not be arrested. If Hooters becomes aware of it, they will contact you-tube, and they will take it down for you. I can take a picture or vid of anything I want, I can not broadcast it unless the owner gives me permission.
