Reed City sucks. There is nothing fun to do for 21+. The place is great for retirement, but don't think that your kids will make it anywhere. Also, there are too many dumb hicks. I left Reed City the first chance that I got and I haven't been back since.

A copy of this belongs on the unsolved murder forum for Reed city... so "a friend" of yours is hiding murder information? Don't you think that the right thing to do is to contact the people that are collecting info on the unsolved murder page? don't you worry that your *friend may be set free by turning in this info, and not be charged for hiding ... if this is the case. Do you think that if it was your mother, your wife, your sister, your aunt, your friend, your neighbor, your church friend, you co-worker.... that you would want the truth to come forward, to be (investigated into), if that what the investigator is doing, or just contact the sister that is looking for info, on the murder page...
I remember the murder and there was a lot of talk about this being a hush hush, political city big shot job??

Reed City is a pothole. Its gone to hell. It should not be the county seat! It is a disgusting representation of the county.

It is the same as any small town USA. There are those that love it and those that malign it.

Maybe if in order to work for Reed City, you must actually live IN Reed City... maybe then the employees would actually Care? For instance... where does the "city manager" live? Care to guess how far away? Isn't he also Part Time and is being paid $50k per year?! Hmmmm... must not have been anyone local interested in that position that is qualified and wanted or needed a job like that?

I'm scared just to go back and visit....seems like you should feel safe with all of the police everywhere. Nope....they WILL pull you over for something stupid and probably give you a ticket. The teachers at the high school think they are celebrities and should be treated differently and guess what? They do... reed city sucks. Too much to complain about. But I'm glad I grew up there. It was a blast until I started realizing how messed up things were.

Reed City has taken a back seat to some poor leadership and misdirection for far to long and change would just what this small community needs.

Teachers are treated differently but not as royalty but the high society as RC doesn't offer a better paying job.

Spectrum Health in Reed City is where the high paying jobs are, not teaching.

Law enforcement in Reed City is omnipresent with local, County and State in attendance and they don't cut any slack for the locals who's dollars support the community. It's a sad state of affairs but the residents created this problem with their votes, nepotism and apathy. You jump in the sewer with the rats, you become one of them.

Reed City Michigan. What a lovely town. Small, Quaint, Good People, Plenty of Law Enforcement to keep crime down, and the stores downtown are amazingly diverse! I cannot believe all these people who whine and moan about a place they grew up in. Maybe they were part of the problem.

"Quaint". "Amazingly diverse stores", I don't know what Reed City you're talking about but it's not the same one I'm in every day. I believe your name and location (Holland) indicates you may be a bit naive.

I grew up there in the 60's, and loved to shop at the ben franklin store, plus Holmgrens.. Also I worked at the Mackinaw Trail Rest. all the years of h.s. It was so much fun. We did some pretty dumb things, but the love of the town is what is making my journey next month so exciting. I know for a fract the house I lived in is still on Franklin street. Can't wait to see it again. All you that graduated in 65, be4 blessed see you soon. Coming in from Midland Texas......
