So instead of bitching about it (for those who have chosen to not run away, that is), do something about it. Make changes. It's your community, get involved, contribute to the betterment of it.

Every community has their issues, and RC gets enough battering from surrounding self-centered towns (BR, are you listening?). It certainly doesn't stand a chance when its own community members start doing the same.

you know there is bad and good in everytown, and RC has an angel in disquise, maybe more than one. Christmas in our town was good for several families when the lady at Grandmas garden got Santa to deliver gifts and food to them for Christmas . She must have had help but what a job. the neighbors said she tried to get the items the kids wanted and the food was unexpected, so look for the good.instead of focusing on the bad!

I've heard both good and bad about Yoplait. I think it depends on one's attitude and/or willingness to stay out of the drama of it all.

We have lived all over the country and ,no, Reed City isn't what it was in the past, but what community is? We recently visited the old homestead for the Cross Roads Festival and we were actually pleasantly surprised. The town is still clean and, from what we hear from families still living there, pretty safe compared to other ares. Times change and we all need to change with them. It isn't Reed City, it's America. If you want less corruption, crime, drugs, etc... demand just that. You can make positive change in any community and avoid the negative. Get involved in the schools, churches, family organizations, and your kids lives. We live in one of the worst communities in lower Michigan, but we are happy and safe because we keep ourselves that way and so do those friends of ours who still live in and love Reed City

Anybody hear of the Reed City town councilwoman Marlene something or another who got caught with her dog off the leash? She still goes around with the dog off the leash and thinks it's ok because she's so special!

Haha, The comment about the snowmobile trail is so true. I can't ride through there without being hassled by at least 2 obese reed city cops, whose sole purpose is to stick their bulge in my face and tell me who's boss. Yet somehow, the city is still riddled with petty crime. How pathetic; Their sole purpose seems to be enforcing respect for their ego. Reed city cops = FAIL.

Too Many law enforcement agencies in a small town. State police, Sheriffs Dept and the Reed City Police dept. Barney Fife is left with nothing to do but look for speeders. Look at the police report in the Pioneer. They have nothing to do.
Snowmobile trail is the same way. Tourist won't travel through if they are always hasseled. Reed City just doesn't get it and probably won't till it's too late.
Wait till the new sports bar opens downtown Barney will be sitting out side with His breathalizer waiting. That should be good for business!
I along with hundreds of other people drive the back roads around town everyday just to avoid them. The town is turning into a joke.
Oh its funny you mention that because I just got pulled over on a back road for a crack in my wind shield. Thats it. No speeding, rolling stop, nothing. A crack. On a BACK ROAD!!!

Well people, start fighting back!!complaining on here will get no results.
Start filing complaints at the state level, make these lazy law-makers do what we pay them to do.
WE vote them in,and we can vote them out. Osceola County needs a huge wake up call(huge lawsuit)that it cant afford.

There is alot of cocaine at the high school and there alot of meth labs in this area in general. One blew up right around the corner from the elementary school a few months ago. I think alot of the problem is law enforcement. Cops pull people over (all the time) and give tickets but thats about it.

yea i grew up in RC, its gone downhill, but look at the towns in the area, its not just confined there, look at the meth problem Evart had a few years back, and is still having trouble with, you can go to just about any town in Michigan and see the same loss of jobs, the same rising crime rate. its been spiraling down for a while now, and as long as we keep electing the same people into office, nothing will change, the same ppl make the same bribe's to get what they want, and everyone follows along with it, meanwhile were the ones getting screwed... without even the common courtesy of a reach around.

ah well, enough random complaining about the way the country is being run.... TO AMSTERDAM!!!
