What's the difference anymore? They will just be allowed to plead out to next to nothing and get out on parole in no time and back into business.

It seems like the drug problem has been overlooked by politians. What used to be a big issue seems to have been pushed off altogether during this election. Still drugs and drug abuse is having a hugh effect on many families and on all of us with the increase in crime that comes with drug use. Glad to hear that our law enforcement agencies (the ones who realize the impact) are still working hard to cut down on drug availablity, etc. Thanks!!!

I am sure that if the drug task force looked hard enough, they would find all kinds of drugs on many campuses they think would not be there.

Ignorance is no excuse and shame on many for thinking that this is new to any campus.

I would hope that "looking hard enough" would not include breaking the law by violating civil rights. Too many Americans have died defending these rights to have them tossed out the window because police go beyond enforcing the law by actually breaking them, and usually try to defend this practice by saying "but look what we found". Good job on the Cocaine bust though, nice to see the focus on the more damaging drugs.

Nope, not a surprise at all....as an EMT, you'd be surprised at the things I have seen in the Ferris dorms, frat houses, etc. Believe me, it's not just limited to pot and crack- Just ask my ex's daughter...she's been busted a few times. As far as what goes on at GVSU...couldn't tell ya, but I'd imagine it's the same.

I attended GVSU for four (4) years for my undergraduate and two (2) years for my Masters degree and I have never heard of anyone having crack or cocaine on campus.

Um... you're a well to do college graduate. If course you wouldn't know drug users, especially crack users. I knew a whole crowd of them, they were all former class mates.

That's because you were serious about your education, and set high goals for yourself. You were just too busy to self destruct.
Good for you.

Thats because so many of our politicians are former pot heads from the sixtys. You know - "make love, not war. If it feels good - do it." And we wonder why our country is going to hell in a handbasket.

Yeah, it isn't because people are falling through cracks, wait gaps, in society. If we had better and more affordable mental health care then people wouldn't neep to turn to drugs.
