How about instead of being "tired of running" you become "tired of breaking the law" Just a thought.

This man is obviously "intelligent" in the sense that he carefully thought out his escape through the skylight with some advance planning even to the point of timing it with Thanksgiving weekend, changing his appearance, finding shelter, clothing, a car, etc. He is obviously extremely stupid in that he has chosen to use his intelligence in a life of violent crime when he could have applied his smarts to legitimate business ventures.

I wonder, though, why he headed to meet up with known acquaintances and family members. You could pretty much figure that the cops would be keeping and eye out for him contacting relatives and friends. You'd think he would have run to less obvious places -- like out of state. Maybe in the end he wanted to get caught?
