I noticed a couple of bicycles that looked as though they were dumped next to some pine trees by someone who maybe just took them for a ride to avoid walking and no longer wanted them in their care. They look in good condition, and one is a newer model that looks like a remake of the 60's style with fenders. I live in an apartment complex and thought they would be found by the maintenence worker when he cut the grass. After more than a week, the worker just leaned them up against the rear of some other apartments when he was cutting the grass. He did nothing else about them, so after two weeks I phoned Central Dispatch for Mecosta County and advised them as to their location. They took my name and phone number and said someone will likely be contacting me. Later that afternoon while I was out running an arrand with my daughter, an officer called and asked my wife for me. When told I was out they left no other information but said they would be calling back. Two days went by without any call, so I contacted Central Dispatch again who told me an officer would likely be calling me back when they are on duty again. It's been another week now and the bicycles are still leaning against the apartment building, and no one has called me back. I guess they just don't really care about recovering potential stolen bikes. I tried the best I could.
