Been riding many years. Too bad this kind of thing happens a lot. WE, as riders, do assume a world of responsibility when, WE RIDERS, start up our bike and take off down the road. Maybe army sergeant should learn to ride himself. Maybe, then, you will know exactly what an experience motorcycling is. You do not even know what an expert is unless you yourself are a rider. It sounds like an accident and what does the 3 year old have to do with it? The man that was driving the truck is miserable at this time. Maybe, instead of feeling sorry for yourself, you should think of the truck driver.

Yes, very true, but in my case, I know it saved me from more injury. My Dr. said he couldn't explain why I had no spinal or head injury, when some people who get hit at less impact can end up in bad shape. It is just all in Gods hands. I am so thankful that for the wonderful fellow who this forum is about, that his wife was with so many Christian women....I am positive that they will continue to pray for her peace and healing. |

Thank you so much, Sister in Christ for sharing. You made my night. We have been constantly amazed at how God placed all the right people in the right places at the right time. We definitely felt all your prayers. While it was very tough being the only family member in town at the time of the accident and being responsible for the decisions, I don't think I could have imagined a better place for Mom to be. I wouldn't have wanted her to be here to witness Dad and his condition. I would rather be the one to take it upon myself.
As for the accident itself, I want to clarify a few things to those who are unclear. First of all, nobody was to blame. It was an absolute blind hill. The truck was turning into a driveway when my dad came over the hill (going the speed limit). It was all in the timing. In the ER, after my dad was pronounced, I made certain the deputy knew to tell the truck driver that I hold no grudges and no anger. This is something he will have to heal from and it isn't going to be easy. I have no ill feelings towards him whatsoever. This was not a typical car vs bike accident. God just called Dad home. He is in a much better place now. While I am absolutely crushed inside, someday the message will get from my head to my heart. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. |

God Bless You! |
A- First, let me tell you again how sorry I am for your loss. Your dad was an amazing man and he touched the lives of so many people. He will be greatly missed but you are right, God called him home and he is in a much better place. I have to tell you that my mom said that she was so proud of you and the way you handled things at the hospital. I can't even imagine the pain you were going through. But you stepped up while your mom was away and took care of things. That took great strength and courage. Please do not let the negative comments of others discourage you. They were not there, they didn't know your dad. Your actions and words are being a great witness to your friends, children and even strangers who read your post. I hope that I would do the same if I were in your shoes. My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you and your family. I miss you, E |

the guy was 64.. i highly doubt he was speeding, he was probably putting along enjoying the beautiful day.. and then wham.. he expected the truck to wait for him to pass... but the truck didnt.. only the driver of the truck can tell the real story.. and he knows if he is at fault or not... |

I cant even being to explain how sorry I am for the loss of your father. Now I dont know your family all that well. But I did know your uncle charlie. What a great man he was as well. I just want to say to those judgemental people you need to grow up. Stop being so quick to judge. If at one day this happens to you.. god rest your soul.

So sorry to hear about your loss.
I believe however, that when your time "comes", it wouldn't have mattered if he was riding a bike, or driving a tank. I just wish that when our number came "up", that those who are left behind didn't have to go through so much pain and heartache. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers... |
