Please clear this up...it is the Muskegon River, not Muskegon Lake. The body was found in front of our house.

How horrible, but at the same time it may be closure for some family.

Over a year ago, we had a young man from this area that jumped off one of our bridges (while being chased by the cops) and was never recovered. Wonder if they've found him now?

As for the weekend TV13 news ya gotta remember this...last week they reported that the E Coli bacteria was no longer detected in the Greenville water supply but now they had CHLOROFORM Bacteria in the water. Well Chloroform is an anesthesia. I think they ment to say Coliform which is what E-COLI is in the first place.

Here is the report from the Muskegon Chronicle.

Police in Mecosta County say they are trying to identify a body found in the Muskegon River Sunday night.

The Mecosta County Sheriff's Department says a canoer found the body on the bank in the Muskegon River in Big Rapids Township.

Investigators say the body had been in the water a long time. The body was wearing winter boots, jeans, a shirt and had no identification.

Police say they have a witness who says he recognized the body as that of a man who disappeared two years ago after jumping off a bridge to get away from police after allegedly stealing gas.

An autopsy will be scheduled and investigators hope to make an identification soon.

I heard they are thinking it was the man that jumped in the river trying to get away from the cops last year. I also heard he was the only person missing from the area.
