LMBO! Not at the poor people who were laid off - but the sheer irony of where they work!

The number is around 70 and I'd be surprised if they ever got called back. They didn't go by seniority either which has some people in a real bind now.

Where is their sales force? The fastener industry is selling to more than the Auto makers.....

Same trend since the Lyons Chrysler Trim Plant was closed in 1979. Michigan keeps losing its automotive / lndustrial base with nothing much to replace it.

Aren't we supposed to be the new medical capital now? Nice, but it doesn't help our people who have worked manufacturing all their lives.

I used to work there. I too feel bad for my ex fellow employees, BUT, I don't feel bad for the company. It's run by a bunch of evil liars. Federal screw did'nt really pay its people much money anyway.$9.80 pr hr and EMPLOYEES paid almost $600 a month for family health ins.(!) That's well over a third of their take home pay. Actually, just a little under half. Heck, WALMART pays more AND has better benefits! These people may not think so now, but FSW just did them a favor. Within a few months they will most likely be making more money with better benifits in better working conditions. I'm not some disgruntled ex employee using this forum to vent. I just know that after spending many years there and seeing them treat too many good employees to count like crap, mabey they are getting what they deserve. I pray the laid-off people find good jobs soon, and Tom (you know who you are) finds JESUS.

That's the spirit! A true American attitude. Glad to see it!
