Wow…. This is the only word that comes to mind when viewing this web site. To actually have controversy over whether or not Sandra Marvin is a good prosecutor baffles me. There are a whole three people on this site defending her, now that’s amazing! For starters, I am not a fan of Sandra Marvin’s nor will I EVER support anything that involves her. I personally feel she only goes to battle against the people who threaten her power. I feel that Sandra Marvin tries to punish the innocent and commend the guilty. I feel Sandra Marvin is hypocritical is most decisions she makes or prosecutes. I feel that being a prosecutor is a privilege, a honor. A prosecutor should represent not only themselves but many communities. Drinking, affairs, underage disputes… Last time I checked none of these was qualifications for a Prosecuting attorney. Most of the actions that Sandra Marvin has chosen to make have shown reasons why she is not a good leader of the community nor is she someone we as the city members should trust to go to battle. The world is a dangerous place, is Sandra Marvin really someone we want protecting us?

The only problem with Sandra Marvin is that she doesn't actually HAVE a set of balls. That's not to say that she doesn't have the courage to stand up the the "Good ol' Boys Network" of Osceola County. Maybe if she did have a "set" the powers that be wouldn't have such a problem with her. She's putting up with a whole lot of BULLSHIT from a bunch of idiots for too little pay and still manages to show her face down at the Traveler for a cold one. The problem with Sandra Marvin isn't wheather she is a good prosecutor or a bad prosecutor. The real problem is the fact that she doesn't have the moral character that is required for being a leader of a community.

Good Fact - She was at the top of her class at Cooley Law School.

Good Fact - She performs adaquetly when she wants to win.

Bad Fact - She ran for office as a democrat and she is really a republican.(Or the other way around but she lied to get in office)

Bad Fact - She is sexist. I think that everyone knows this one by now. She hates men and loves the fact that she can have "Power" over them. Her position provides this.

Bad Fact - She is an alcoholic which isn't a proper representation to people within the community.

Bad Fact - She drinks and drives in which she prosecutes people for the same offense. So, she is a hypocrite for these actions as well as endangering individuals that she has been elected to serve and protect. Sandy, how would it look if you got in a car accident and killed a child? Ask yourself that one the next time you drink and drive.

Bad Fact - She is more than willing to prosecute individuals who abuse drugs but her oldest daughter has had problems with cocaine and has never seen the inside of a court room for her offenses. Now Sandra has prosecuted young adults of the same age as her daughter for the same offenses but doesn't prosecute her own daughter. Another example of her and her family being "above the law" because of her position.

Bad Fact - She is sexually permiscious. Everyone knows this and I think everyone knows her nick name (The prostituting attorney). This again is another example of poor character as a leader of the community. She does not represent the community properly with her actions outside of work which is a requirement of her position.

I for one do not believe that she should hold an office of leadership. Especially, one that relies on a persons character when who to prosecute and who should not be prosecuted. She can not get along with the police department and refuses to do so. Her arrogence, moral character, and inability to keep personal aspects of her life seperate from her career are all reasons why I believe she should not be in office. Her choices may be acceptable as an individual but not as a leader of the community. I know Sandra and her family well so if there is any dispute over anything that I have said here I would be happy to go into further detail to any disputed information that I have posted.

I have seen posts on here that are incorrect and I would like to clarify them as well. To any individuals that do not know the story about Sandra and Robin. They are engaged. They met in person not over the internet as people have posted on here. Robin is actually a nice guy but very misinformed to sandy and some of the situations that revolve around her. He is defending her on here but of course he would. He is her boyfriend. Other than that he is a decent guy for the most part and everyone is entitled to there opinions.

As for the comments refering to Robin having some sort of sexual misconduct with Sandra's youngest daughter. These statements are falsly accusing both of them in which should be retracted due to there offensive nature. That is a pretty scandalous statement to who ever posted it and it is untrue. You are being just as inappropriate as you claim that sandra is being. Lets try to stick to the facts people.

Look at Harwell's experience when running for office. He has run for prosecutor in many counties, as well as Judge here in Osceola. He is only here for the money. Look at Marvins "experience", it is a disgrace to our county. We elect Presidents with no experience, what is the difference with a prosecutor? Mr. Simms is trained as a defense attorney, no difference than a prosecutor there. Some times it is best to get a fresh look at things. Let the new guy have a go at it, at leats he has ethics.

Cameron Harwell should learn his facts. Apparently he never consulted with Mr. Simms on his trial experience. Perhaps Mr. Harwell should learn what slander is all about. The facts are that there are only a couple of criminal trials in Osceola a year, and Sandy has only won a couple her whole term. She made the Attorney General Mike Cox come here to prosecute a couple.

Fact: Cameron Harwell quit the misdemeanor contract because he wasn't being paid enough. The contract had a value of $260,000 a year split between a few attorneys. He plans to make more here as a prosecutor?

Fact: Cameron Harwell has been a fence sitter for years and is only interested in Osceola County when he wants an elected job. Loook at the race between him and Judge Scott Hill-Kennedy for Judge. Pathetic. He has done the same in other counties. Look at Cadillac, that is where he is from and where his office is located. How does he benefit Osceola County on a daily basis.

Fact: He is in the prosecutors race to divide the votes so his friend Sandra Marvin can be re-elected. If he is serious about this race, where has he been for the last few months?

Fact: Cameron Harwell is distracting the voters with what Mr. Simms qualifications are and not telling them why he is really in this race.

Fact: If people vote him into this position, he will only degrade this county further. He is a disgrace in Cadillac, why do we want him here? Why wont he admit the real reason for leaving the Wexford County defender contract? Please, someone ask him.

ok. everyone seems to be bad mouthing everyone on here. So far I have read why sandra marvin is bad, why cameron harwell is bad and why James Simms is bad. I am seeing people defend Sandra and James, but what about Cameron? If no one else is going to ask these questions I guess I will.
Cameron-Why are you running for prosecutor in Osceola County when you currently practice in Cadillac?
Cmaeron- Why did you leave the wexford county defender contract?

And my final question - Why do you think that experience is so important in the prosecutors office when even you yourself said that Marvin is a bad prosecutor? She has 12 years in the prosecutors office and in my opinion, her experience is not good at all. So please tell me why you think that experience is so damn important and why your experience is so great?

I need to bring this up again! lol Donaven Thorn (origanally charged with 12 felonies and 13 misd.) was just sent to Jackson prison last Monday. The MDOC (Michigan Department of Corrections) web site called OTIS has him on their site as being charged with three charges, two second degree home invasion and one charge of B & E with intent. Now in last weeks Osceola edition of the Pioneer Ms. Marvin told them that he was sentenced on six charges. So what really is going on? Did she charge him with six or three of the original 25 charges??????????
What happened to the rest of them? Do all of the victims of this mans crimes know that most of them were dropped? DO we believe her when she says that she charged him with six or do we believe MDOC?!?!?!?!? Is Marvin trying to look better to our community and lie to us in our small town paper????? I will be back after I find out more! He should have been charged with everything instead MOST of the charges are just gone!
