Did you hear his excuse to the officer?

"Sir, I don't like meat but I sure like the bone"

He sounds like he belongs to be signed up for preschool for serial killers or something. I'm not trying to be funny, I'm almost totally serious. The fact that he went into someone else's home to steal meat that he claims he doesn't eat is more than freaky!!

Does it occur to any of you that this kid is probably desperate for food for himself or his family? It was a stupid decision, but you don't go steal something like that unless you are in such deep need you feel you have no other options. I abhor theft, but he obviously needs a hand.

I totally agree. There may be more to this story that we don't know though. They didn't give much information.

I think there's a lot more to this story than they've given.

Maybe he's a member of PETA and he stole the meat to save the animals from being eaten. Bet he was surprised when he figured out..."Wait a minute, they are already dead."

As sad as it is to steal it is even sadder to watch your loved ones go hungry. I believe that our great state will see much more of this type of crime in the near future. More stolen food and poaching ( not just dear but farmers live stock also)will soon be a daily occurance as long as Michigans economy continues to diminish.

Deer, sorry I try not to correct because I am sure I do it to but... Anyways does it make it right for him to steal it from someone else though? there are plenty of people out there willing to help, when asked.

That was my first thought. How sad is that to steal food from a freezer ? We'll see alot more strange things happening.

Strange story. Why steal MEAT instead of MONEY?

Mental instability of some sort maybe?

I have no idea of what his motivation may be. However, he most likely will not have to worry where his next meal is coming from.

Yeah, it will be coming courtesy of the taxpayers.

There wasn't a whole lot of information, but this young man must have felt there were no options out there for him. There is no excuse for theft, and I'm trying to give him the benefit of doubt, as it is quite obvious, his mind is not in the right place.

There, too, maybe he's just a crook!

Funny that in the course of correcting, you used the wrong instance of too/to/two. It actually should have been TOO. I usually don't correct either, but that struck me as funny :P

My freezer was cleaned out buy a crook, found out latter is was my freaking sister in-law.
She traded all my meat, including the venison to a low life scum bag crack dealer.
here is the best part-
long before she ripped us off, i turned her in to the cops for her crack addition, i gave the cops her name, address, phone numbers, the location of her low life dealer, the whole ball of wax.
and guess what...they did...nothing.
she gets money from the state for food (WIC), She is scamming money for "child care" but her sister baby sits and doesn't charge her money, she is scamming the welfare system..
i turned her in for those to, and guess what...nothing.
don't you just love the liberal system that rewards bad behavior.
her 4 year old little girl is so messed up its not funny, the state said, if i take the kid from the low life mother without the proper orders- I'm guilty of "kid napping"
so the state again is protecting this scum bag.

This exact same thing happened to me about 7 months ago. My freezer is in the garage which is almost always locked. Needless to say I was upset a little. Good meat from the local meat shop too, the little twerp ate good.

I relate to what you're saying. This is all too common, and very frustrating. The system often seems to reward the wrong people and the neglect decent honest people. Years ago, I personally experienced a situation where this guy my brother knew regularly shoplifted meat from grocery stores and sold it on the streets. I don't know if he did it for drugs, or simply to survive, but it made me sick that he did it, nonetheless. There are honest ways to get money...you just have to be willing to work for it. Too many people want something for nothing. Stealing is always wrong.
